I heard of that glitch execution somewhere... where you go in the lab, exit, walk around somwhere... ok. I forgot it, but it's somehow done w/o directly surfing.

Go into the lab, then out, then walk straight down, then when you reach the south shore, go right, then when you reach the east shore, go up, and when the gym stops you from walking any further, go left to trigger the "Door is locked" message. The man should be behind you.

actually, I believe it somehow deals with the way the game loads the map. notice how it does not work for the Pokemon center or Pok?Mart

I just figured something out about this glitch.

You don't have to go to the door exactly the way I posted, just come out of the lab, do whatever you want below the lab and PokeCenter and PokeMart, go to the east of the Pokemart, but make sure you walking up along the shore, not walking up from next to the Pokemart. Then when you arrive at the building, just go left and it'll still work.

It happens because he is supposed to appear on screen, but at the same time the text area appears on the screen, so the game moves him to a vacant spot.
