A nameless pokemon in Gold and Silver
« on: August 11, 2006, 07:07:15 AM »
I was trying to discover a new way of doing the cloning glitch on G/S to try and get glitched up pokemon and I found one way to get a pretty glitched Pokemon.

If you Save Relitively near a Pokemon center (it beats walking) and go in to Grass and encounter a wild Pokemon and Catch it. You then Save and as it says SAVING GAME..... DO NOT TURN OFF POWER; You guessed it! You turn off!

You check your PC or Party and you will have a nameless pokemon shown by "            " or "?"
If you check its stats It will have OT: ? and its Trainer ID Number is 000000

I have done this with a Rattata and a Sentret which worked

Unfortunately the glitch has a pretty low success rate but It does work! (honest!)

Try it at least 10 times berfore you complain as I don't mind you complaining as long as you have tried!

Actually The Success rate is a bit too low and you would need to do it more times than just 10

Sorry if You waste time attempting this....

I think that I may have fogotten an extra step as well!

But it is strange and it does work if you get it right!

If it works Please tell me!

Well, I've accomplished something similar through a trade glitch: I was trying to get a trade glitch to occur by unplugging the link cable while trading two Pok?mon, in hopes of getting an unusual Glitch Pok?mon. I never did get a Glitch Pok?mon, but one time a Doduo that I was trading lost all of its associated data, setting its level, all of its stats, and its ID No. to 0, and replacing its moves with the Cooltrainer glitch move (which is HEX 00).

Both my trade glitch and your saving glitch are  examples of the game failing to save certain parts of a Pok?mon's data, while saving others. You have to be extremely lucky to get it to work right, though. I don't know whether to approve this, because although it is a real glitch and could possibly unlock the ability to find more glitches, there is so much randomness involved that it would be near impossible to duplicate any particular glitch that this causes.
First to discover and name the following glitches:
* Super Glitch
* ZZAZZ Glitch
* Q Glitch
* Level-100+ Glitch Evolutions and Moves

I managed to get quite a strange glitch when trying to use the wrong link cable (an advanced cable) to trade from Red to Silver...
I tried knowing it wouldn't work...
The silver didn't work but it let the Red in to a glitch city style place before crashing and going blank!
I tried it again and again but it never happened again

How'd you fit an advance cable into a Gameboy? Or did you use two Gameboy Advances?

I used Two Gameboy advances (I borrowed my brother's)

With the cable Silver always finds the cable and knows it is there but the red doesn't usually.......But sometimes it does for no reason whatsoever!!!! ???
