Megalo Strike Back
Artist : Toby Fox
Album : I Miss You - EarthBound 2012

Basically listening to the entire album, too. Ninefield is rad.
TheZZAZZGlitch made a pretty cool memory editor, which nicely fits in 200 bytes. You can check it out in this video.
Given that the setup's duration basically depends on its length, I made a "1.1" version, which retains the same functionality, but fits it only 173 bytes !

Here is the byte list :
Note that you will need to start with 173 X Accuracies instead of 200.

If you want to check out the source, which is even more messy (but also more commented) than the original :
A CartSwap setup had been made (by Cryo, IIRC), which used the joypad to wake up the Game Boy. It did this, plus fillers :
Code: [Select]
ld a, $20 ; Select dpad
ldh [$FF00], a
ld a, $10 ; Joypad interrupt
ldh [$FFFF], a
stop ; $10, makes the Game Boy "deep sleep" until an interrupt occurs
XX ; Any byte
xor a
ld [$FF0F], a
inc a
ld [$FFFF], a
halt ; Wait for a VBlank interrupt, this helps stabilize the state

The user should simply run the code, swap carts, and press the D-Pad.
(Note : if the D-Pad is already held when the setup is ran, it will fail.)
Video Games/Glitches Discussion / Re: Mario & Luigi series

I played all of them, though to different extents.

Let's be clear : Superstar Saga DX is a BAD remake. You'd be better playing the GBA version, as lacking of pixels as it is.
With that out of the way.

I played a small chunk of Superstar Saga on my 3DS (using CFW), and I really like it so far, although it promises much more.

I finished Partners in Time, and honestly it's a really good game. Bosses, music, ambience, everything. It's got everything. I wasn't such a big fan of that ambience, with the gloomy and dark story, but I have to admit it's great, and man. Luigi saved 'em all.

I really, really enjoyed Bowser's Inside Story, although I've heard it being tossed aside in favor of PiT. Oh well. The bosses are of the classical tactical kind with the bros, but with Bowser, you're much more into packing the biggest punches you can until, well... lol.

Dream Team... no. It's bad. Using sprites on the DS ? Ok. Using sprites on the 3DS ? Ok... but give them more directions, this is a circle pad, dammit ! That's the point of 3D models, they can be animated fluidly... at least keep up with that... oh well. The music was average, or below, though there are some very good pieces. The gameplay is not particularly interesting, and the story... I find it rather plain.

Paper Jam Bros. was a *blast* to play. I love Paper Mario, and I really liked this cross-over, also for its irony with itself and the M&L franchise. The fourth wall... let's not evoke that late fella xP

Finally, I really don't like Superstar Saga DX. Just compare Come On! from Paper Jam (is real gud), and from SSDX (it's... weirdly extended). Things like that ; they are minor, but really do a disservice to the game.

I don't know if they did, but they pressed YouTube to block the video on copyright grounds.

Start at D2F6, and set everything to zero. This will remove all Pokémon from your Pokédex, including Pikachu.
You can set these back after you obtain the parcel.

You mean you have 6 Pokémon in the Pokédex ?

Maybe soon. I didn't plan an ounce of anything scenario-like, so I have no idea what to do :3

If there are at least 8 bytes free in HRAM, you can fit this code there, and greatly reduce the chances of said code steamrolling itself. Unless you corrupt h with $FF.

YOU... YOU...

Sorry, that was mean. How's it going ?

Say that to my face fucker not online and see what happens.

Let's see what happens

Actually, it's doable, but differently. Again, DMA hijacking is king.

Concept : (I don't feel like working out the exact details)
VBlank saves registers (push af at beginning, pop af before returning, for example).

Thus, their values are written on the stack.
Code: [Select]
ld hl, sp+X
ld [hl], Y
ld a, $C3
ld c, $46
The effect of swapping Pokémon past slot 6 is already possible using Bad Clones, so I'm more interested in the other effects.

Maybe they could be doable "legit" (I'm not really interested in memory edit-only glitches, but that's probably me being too much of a purist) using DMA hijacking, and half-resetting the game by jumping in the middle of its init (past the point where it copies the DMA routine, maybe setting a few values beforehand to avoid crashes).

If a modified init is required, the Mail buffer could lend a helpful hand here, by providing a large enough buffer to store the modified init in.

Here's a "guide" that would allow doing that :

1. Run this code (it's inexact because I don't know the labels and lengths)
Code: [Select]
ld hl, Init ; 0150, IIRC ?
ld de, wMailBuffer
ld bc, MailBufLen
jp CopyMemory ; Copy the "base" init to the buffer
This sets up the code buffer for later.

2. Edit all addresses that have to be patched. You can use the "box names as a memory editor" setup.

3. Write the DMA hijacking routine, which I'll call "SetCEE0ToValue".

4. Run this code.
Code: [Select]
; Set up DMA hijacking
ld hl, PiggybackSnippet ; Must point to "call SetCEE0ToValue" followed by "ld [c], a"
ld bc, 4 << 8 | LOW(DMARoutine)

ld a, [hli]
ld [c], a
inc c
dec b
jr nz, .copyDMA

jp wMailBuffer ; Run our modified game init (which should have been tailed with a jp to ROM)
It's required to set DMA hijacking at the same time as "rebooting", since otherwise you can't do ACE due to the cursor being locked.

You should get a new computer, then. XP has been EOL'd for long, you shouldn't stay with it.
