Interesting.

BEHOLD, WE HAVE... something?

Cool stuff here!

You know that Pidgeotto hybrid in R/B that has a volatile fromt sprite? Could you maybe figure out where it takes its sprite data from?

I've never made one, but they're such an iconic element of late 2000s internet culture that it's hard to forget...

Jesus Christ, I didn't realize blingee was 11 years old!

Takes me back to ye olden days...
5
That's what I meant!

If we have the power to transplant code into other games, I think we could modify ROM...
6
If we can wield this thing and use it to execute arbitrary code IN OTHER GAMES, I think this just might be possible!

Generation VII Glitch Discussion / Re: Spiky Shield Sky Drop glitch
« on: May 19, 2017, 01:32:21 pm »
If the Gen 3 incarnation of the Pomeg glitch caused so much havoc, who knows what this glitch could do...
Does the game think you have no Pokemon left if you, say, have one "living dead" Pokemon and one normal one who knocks itself out?
8
Trying to make a legit shiny Mew...

It was painful and several saves were lost, but I did it and it was fun!
9
I remember a ROMhack of Black and White that set all the battles to either Doubles or Triples... and almost all of the trainers would attack each other!

I guess that explains it...

YAY I HAVE AN EXCUSE TO POST THESE

Long post incoming! These were both written on different days.

Obtaining this thing was easier than first thought... I used a starter modifier code for the Pokedex entry, and just used other codes to change a Rattata's species for the sake of recording everything else.

Notes: As mentioned before, I wanted to study this one because of its unusual sprite. It's actually "Mew-colored" on the status screen! (Note that, in English versions, it has a typical "garbled block" sprite.)
GHOST JOLTEON, WOO WOO WOO!

Menu sprite taken from GlitchDex... it doesn't really matter.
Something I discovered: Apparently, if a Pokemon forgets a move that has lost PP, then relearns it, it keeps the amount of remaining PP it had before... Strange!
Also, it would be appreciated if somebody told me how to identify unterminated name glitch moves with the debugger tool.

I have had the chorus to "pale machine" by bo en stuck in my head the entire day, send help.

Notes: Had to do the Charizard abomination itself at some point...
This thing is also "Mew-colored" on the status screen... Do all Pokemon above hex F0 have that quality? (Although, I know that FF doesn't in English Yellow...)
When you put a hex:FF Pokemon at the front of the party, some interesting visual glitches appear... I don't think they do anything, but it makes me nervous.
Finally, this thing's rate of learning moves slows the hell down after it gets past level 100...
11
If I knew how to modify the game without causing it to explode, I would totally make a list of all the invalid palettes...
12
While I was looking at the Glitchdex page for RB:BF, I noticed that its sprite is purple for some reason...

I haven't seen that documented anywhere else, so I'm curious why it wasn't the "Mew color" it typically has.
13
I should note that I got that information on Bulbapedia — I have only caught family 205 on Virtual Console, which (naturally) doesn't have color.
14
I've always wondered why family 205 in R/B turns certain parts of the screen red, despite the fact that there isn't red in its sprite...

Are those two problems even related?!
15
Seeing all these discoveries happen firsthand is very exciting!

I wonder if you could put in any other legendary battles...
