I was never lucky enough to encounter a shiny (of course besides Gyarados in Gen 2) in any of the games until Omega Ruby, where I caught a shiny Reshiram, without needing to reset at all! I wasn't necessarily looking for one, I just went to the worm hole, and there it was! I caught it with my master ball, took a picture of it, and posted it on Facebook. xD I lost the game afterwards, but found it again about a year later. Thankfully after I did I transferred Reshiram to Sun. I didn't get a legit shiny in any of the older games until GS were released on the Virtual Console, the Pokemon I caught was a shiny Rattata.

Complete coincidence that I found this thread today, but apparently it was around this day of the year I found my first shiny (before anyone knew about RNG).

EDIT: I remember eating candy that I was hiding in my room during it, which must have been from a Valentine's thing at school, so it was very likely around then. February 14, 2005 was a Monday, but it seems like the kind of thing a teacher would have said "let's just get this over with at the end of a Friday" about, so I can't be exactly sure.

My financial aid got cut off, nobody in my circle has the credit & will to cosign a student loan, and nobody in my circle can afford to pay my tuition out of pocket. Help.
i've got an eighth of one of those MASSIVE pickle jars filled with change and 30 cents on my debit card.

you can have it all but getting it to you would cost more than the money gained.

I like the font and new overworld sprite! Nice to see a new Generation I hack, always.

Thanks for that GlitchDex edit too. Are there any more where that came from?
Yep I plan on adding the information that I posted on the forums to the wiki soon. :) Thanks for the feedback on my hack! Hālian, I'm sorry about your financial aid status. Do you have any form of credit to your name? Hopefully you can figure something out. Good luck!

I finally managed to set up the Pokemon Red disassembly. :V So far, all I've done with the game is edit the uppercase letters, added stereo panning to some songs, added a new wild Pokemon to route 1, edited Red's sprites as you can see, and changed some text. I got a basic plot of my hack down, but I don't want to give anything away until I implement some things. For now, I'll give you a screen shot preview. Please note, I suck at sprite art and I'm better at programming. So sorry if the text hurts your eyes! :P And don't ask about that Snorlax, in time you'll figure out what exactly is going on! Also it's a greyscale image, because I used Emulicious. (It's tools aren't the best for Game Boy hacking, it's better with Master System and game gear which is what I usually work with but for testing the hack it gets the job done. I do have bgb installed. ;) )

stick with BGB.

Also, text is nice.

Also east of Fuschsia. That's where I used to get them for Cooltrainer on FR Red before I switched to Trainer-Flying one of Sabrina's Trainers.

I'm having a stupid, where are Ditto found in R/B?
Without glitches? Cerulean Cave (may have to go down a floor) and the tall grass before Victory Road.
