Title: Pokemon Meat? o.O
Post by: HiddenShadow on July 30, 2008, 03:38:54 pm
A thought just crossed my mind. In the show, Pokemon, they eat meat, right? WHERE DO THEY GET THE MEAT!?!? I'd like to order a yummy Tauros burger, or some Miltank steak. O.O It makes you wonder!

Some magikarp or feebas sushi? There are no normal animals in Pokemon. The pokemon are the animals.

Nope. In the Anime it showed some fish that weren't pokemon, just normal fish, but that's the anime for you (there was also a pidgey eating a worm but meh). :P

Still though...Still makes you wonder. Imagine how the hilbillies eat! "I'm gonna fry me up some Pikachu!" ... 0.0 Creepy. Animes always have some little something that makes you stop and think.

We are talking about a cartoon where things have powers of various elements and monsters can loose an incredible amount of weight and size and fit in small balls, then suddenly trust a complete stranger who is determined to beat up various powers a capture more of these heavy monsters, send the balls they have been captured in to someone's house over the internet, every person accepts that they can just have visitors walk into there homes, the heroes never sleep, all have incredible insomnia as they do not seem to sleep (unless the plot entails they have to) and there are only a few species of monster until one day, they wake up and a new species has been discovered and just happens to be everywhere and everyone acts as if they have always been there, even though the professor always disagrees, there is time travel, psychic powers, ghosts, incredible hairstyles, cloned emergency services, a single language although everyone seems to be from all over the world, a very unique building design pattern that is sometimes dangerous, talking monsters which only can say their own name, incredibly fast evolution, power levels, people who seemingly have no eyes, no illness (unless the plot requires) incredibly small belts which only allow 6 monsters to travel with you, even though you could obviously take more, telephones only in Hospitals, lifestyles completely different to any other known system, most people have an obsession with battling, a repetitive and uninteresting storyline and other random and illogical things and you ask what do they eat when they have meat.

I think I remember they have animals (when the storyline requires) because I remember they ate fish (just fish, nothing special, although it hadn't been prepared at all seemingly) and random stuffed animals that resemble no Pokemon.

As for the Pokeball problem, why not use their pockets and part of their bag? (Which nearly everybody has one)

Yeah. I'm weird like that. All the things I could wonder about, and it's their meat. Even if it was pokemon though, I still would be a meat eater. Sorry all you Pikachu's reading this message.

I don't eat vegetables or fruit. Anything else edible though, I eat.

People eat Farfetch'd (I wonder what the plural is?). They're reportedly delicious with leeks. So I suppose there's nothing wrong with eating Pokemon. However, just like most people [in this part of the world] don't eat mice or rats, most people in the Pokemon world probably don't eat Pikachu either.

You get milk in one of the games from the Miltank pokemon. When do you see normal animals in the game. You can fish for pokemon which leads me to believe that they don't have fishing poles just to capture them.

In the anime, there is ACTUAL real animal refference.

Misty's Gym: Fish in the aquarium (Don't look like remoraid...)
Underwater scenes: Un-remoraids
Restaurants: Where the heck do they get burgers from?
Ash dressing up as a REAL cow
Go rock squad referring to Goat's cheese.

Add?

Yet only the fish pop up in the wild and whatnot. What confusing crap. Although some Tauros jerkey is sounding pretty good right now.

I still don't understand why people think there are no non-pokemon animals there.
There are non-pokemon humans and non-pokemon plants so why should the other animals be extinct

Uh, are there Pok?mon humans?

Yes. They are called Pokemaniac Bill. :P

Anyways, many pokedex entries refer to animals. Squirtle is the "tiny turtle" pokemon, Ekans is the "snake" pokemon, and Chimchar is the "chimp" pokemon. However, I could just be looking into it too much. After all, it is just a videogame and cartoon, so we should just take these things lightly.

I always believed that the difference between pokemon and normal animals are their abilities to learn "moves", and that no animal can use instantaneous evolution. I took the stats and levels to just be a measure of the pokemon's strength, not something unique to pokemon.

Wow. I didn't mean for this to really get to be a long subject. I figured it'd just stay at one page. I was just being silly. The thought occured to me, and I never paid a lot of attention on trying to find real animals on Pokemon, so I just thought it would be a funny thing to talk about.

Except that "humanshape" is the actual term, whereas things like Squirtle are "tinyturtle" and not "tinyturtleshape"

But Jynx's Dex entry actually says Human Pokemon.

I just found out that the word "Pokemon" is a valid word for a spell-checker.

IIRC FireRed (for some reason) cuts the second word off every Pokedex classification.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised.  I'm sure in Brawl, they were making Pikachu into some tasty rat patties.

Well, I thought a bit about this.

In Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, there IS reference to someone eating Pokemon. Where, I don't remember, but I think it was in a library.

The Pokemon world might be flat and have infinite lands and oceans, and Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Orre, etc are the only place in the world that have Pokemon.

Maybe they use dimensional teleporters to teleport to our world and steal our animals.

Or maybe it's all someone's dream, filled with plot holes like a lot of dreams are.

If you're referring to The Subspace Emissary, the Subspace Army was using it to power the research facility.

I still wonder why there can't be animals in the Pokemon world.
I mean you see plants and plant Pokemon in the Pokemon world.
So why shouldn't there be animals just because there are animal Pokemon?

Mostly because you almost NEVER see or hear of animals in the Pokemon world.

That, and most people would usually think Pokemon has only Pokemon and humans in the Pokemon world, when they start playing/watching Pokemon.

Also, humans ARE Pokemon number #000... *shot*

Point 1: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22almost+never%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
That, and the Pokemon anime seems to have contradictions anyway. I don't consider it canon to Pokemon. The fish seen in one of the Pokemon anime episodes might be unknown Pokemon, though I haven't watched it in a while.

Point 2: It is a semi-valid point. If you want people to think there are animals in the Pokemon world, you'd more likely point it out and make it clear. The point has to do with the game designers' intentions.

Point 3: Take a joke and perhaps learn of evolution. In the real world, it's commonly accepted that humans evolved from apes. In the Pokemon world, humans may have evolved from Primapes. That's an evolution joke I thought up a while ago.
Oh, and I'm quite proficient with computers, thank you.

1. Right, still, there are lot more times when they mentioned or showed animals then just in the first few episodes.
2. They don't make a lot things clear. It took me a week to get a starter in Pokemon Red because they tell you not to go into the grass without a Pokemon when that's exactly what they want you to do.
3. That was a joke too. You can laugh now.
