Title: Coin Case Glitch: Hatching Pokemon with Box Code names
Post by: SpunkyBandy on September 28, 2017, 10:10:25 am
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeC36_MhSBA

Based from the glitch performed by ChickasaurusGL, this is a glitch no one seems to talk about a whole lot, and I was wondering if I could contribute
to this by adding in glitches, plus I've seemingly discovered that roaming Pokemon (Raikou, Entei and Suicine) gets completely disabled when performing it with the Coin Case. Tutorials can be found on her video and thank you for re-discovering for such an amazing glitch.

And if you hatch the Pokemon in this way does it register in the Pokedex on the 3DS? I seem to recall it working in the originals. If you just use the coin case to turn one Pokemon into another it doesn't register - unless you trade and trade back - and for those that have the new 3DS games it's helpful if they don't have another game to trade with.

Indeed it does register the Pokemon after hatching. And I would consider it immensely less time consuming then item PC box management.

Now I'm figuring out how to get version exclusive Pokemon to work and the three Legendary Beasts codenames. (I'm playing on Silver VC btw)

You're very welcome! DragonArbock did most of this though (except for Celebi, Mew and a few others which were written by myself). Glad our codes came in useful. :)

Very useful in fact. Now the otherwise unobtainable Event movesets can be played with on cartridge (or VC). For example, Belly Drum Wooper.

This is useful, but there are some errors. I wanted to get a Skarmory and a Delibird, ended up getting a Houndour and Mantine, which was a time waster and not needed as I'm playing on Gold.

But the codes you and SpunkyBanky came up with have worked perfectly fine.

Today I've got:

Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Kabuto, Omanyte, Phanpy, Scizor, Porygon2.

And now I only need:

Gengar, Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, Politoed, Meowth, Ledyba, Vulpix, Totodile, Chikorita, Steelix, Slowking, Skarmory, Delibird, Kingdra, Celebi.

Posting so I know how many eggs I need to clone left. Because I cloned my Magby egg to hatch all these Pokemon and Magby has a 6500 steps hatch time, it's takes a annoying while to hatch these pokes. Maybe I'll just get a Magikarp egg and clone it so I can get quicker hatches. :'D

Apologies for double posting, but I only need Delibird, Steelix and Kingdra left, but the codes are wrong in DragonArbock's guide and I can't seem to get the right ones.

Others are wrong too, like Scizor is written as: é'm2p0's5 in Arbock's guide, but that's wrong as the correct code is é'm2p0'r'v9 by SpunkyBandy.

The majority seem right though, just a few are wrong and I wonder if anyone can help.

What about a code that forces a Pokémon egg to appear in the daycare, as my Ditto doesn't want to breed with my Pikachu... 🤔
The game does tell me they "show interest" in each other so they can breed

Then you will get a egg eventually, I've had that too and it took ages to produce eggs, I don't know if this is a VC issue. Never seemed to take this long to generate eggs in the original games.

actually i need a code for a togepi because i mindlessly used my togepi egg for celebi... and i can't seem to find a code for it
Title: Re: Coin Case Glitch: Hatching Pokemon with Box Code names
Post by: Nostalgia on October 15, 2017, 11:40:01 am
Togepi code would be:

Box 2: é'm2pp0p5

All the Pokemon codes are similar, just only the Box 2 code is different. So Togepi would use the same box formula as Celebi's in the OP, just with a different Box 2 name.

That's from DragonArbock's guide, so it might not be right, there are a few errors in his guide.

i tried that box name code but the "game's power just went out" aka black screen...
Title: Re: Coin Case Glitch: Hatching Pokemon with Box Code names
Post by: Nostalgia on October 16, 2017, 08:19:15 am
Then it's either one of these 3 things:

1) Not following the exact movement steps and pattern

2) Having a slide Pokemon that doesn't work

3) A small error in the box code names, even the tiniest error like writing d instead of 'd matters and it helps to check the box names multiple times.

Those are the only things that would get a black screen and most of the time it's number 3. I've obtained 29 Pokemon with this glitch so it definitely works, you just need to double check everything.

There is more than one way to write many of these codes. Both Scizor codes are correct, if you'd take the time to understand how they work.
I used the direct 's= 212 solution.
They used v1-v2 = x;  x + 256 = pokemon
 'r - 9 (211 - 255) = -44;  -44 + 256 = 212
Both work.

As for the other other codes, I talked to them on youtube, they were not renaming their corrupted boxes after each attempt, and thus were getting the wrong things.

Now, I have a question- does anyone know how to modify the shiny code to give an attack stat that allows for female pokemon? As of now, the shiny code only gives males at the 50/50 ratio.
(Edit) It also only gives HP dragon, while HP grass would be the better option.

Thought I should mention this as I just discovered it today, despite the fact that this code changes the pokemon species in the egg, the game still thinks of it as the offspring of the 2 mons you bred it from. You can't breed it with its parents even though you changed the species.

I found out all my mons bred by a Ditto and Hoppip can't breed at all with the Ditto because the game still considers them parent/offspring.  :-[

Because incest is wrong. Anyway, nice find! It'll be annoying for those that want to circumvent it though...
