I’ve been having a lot of fun playing my bass guitar and getting back into music, although I kind of got way in over my head at first trying to play advanced Iron Maiden songs (Steve Harris is a BEAST), but it’s all in good fun. I’m going to learn new songs by two of my top favorite artists Depeche Mode and Massive Attack, and also a couple of Faith No More songs. There’s more but these are just the ones off the top of my head. Aside from that I’ve really been craving to have some deep conversations and make new friends, I have many interests so feel free to message me I’m open to talk about mostly anything : )

As for why they're doing all this, well, it's probably because of this, and them only having 12% market share this quarter. They're panicking and trying to throw ideas out there without the comfort of making sure they make sense first. Normal people like us might think they're doing fine, but I suspect it's what the shareholders are yelling right now. Probably shouting "do something! Whatever you're doing isn't working! Make something different!" and this is what they came up with on the spot.

Maybe. I'm not that much of a speculator.

Will it work? Maybe. No matter what happens, the media and some YouTube channels will slurp it all up and go "yes no holes this is so exciting" and do Apple's marketing department's job for them, repeating the same bullshit. But there's only so much bullshit Apple can do before it starts alienating everyday consumers who actually buy things. Sure, a lot of people are clueless and don't know what's best for them, but like… fucking with charging, though?

Casual phone users seem to care a lot about charging their phones. I can kinda see someone at an event just running out of battery and being like "whoops! I can't even ask if anyone has a charger because it requires a weird wireless thing!", this basically screws with the whole idea of portable chargers and charging ports on other devices that people are already used to.

And more importantly, that Android (unless Samsung is also trying to pull some bullshit) allows users to do just fine. Locking users down like this and trying to force them into proprietary solutions and telling them how and when they can use their device only really works if you're the market leader, or otherwise have an effective monopoly. I feel like it's not gonna work if people can just buy an Android phone instead and save themselves the trouble… but then, I don't really have faith in the general public's ability to make informed decisions anymore.
"who the f**k makes informed decisions anymore, it's all about clout lol" seems to be the driving force of my generation (yes, both of them, as I fall in Millenial or Gen Z depending on the source) which is seen not only in the fact that Apple isn't dead as f**k outside specialist roles but also with all these life-threatening "challlenges" that clout-chasers die doing for fame.

humanity is the worst species to ever come to be, some of us don't even want to be the same species as our peers.

Off topic but ok.

I really like my iPhone X. I plan on getting an Apple Watch soon an a MacBook eventually. With that said I’m not an Apple fanboy or anything but I do enjoy their services. I can’t even fathom why they would remove the charging port, that is just stupid in my opinion. With the removal of the headphone jack it kind of made sense, but not really. I use AirPods myself and I prefer a wireless option, but there’s no reason to deny people the choice. I’m curious to see what their reasoning for removing the charging port is but whatever it ends up being I think it will be  BS and cause a lot of backlash.

I love browsing old Tripod sites and seeing past discussions of the gens of the time. Which one exactly is the beta map?

Seeing Pikachu finally back in its correct proportions is nice. Longcat is...long! I almost feel like it's a GCL tribute just because this is where I first saw that meme. :P

Overall I don't care too much about the gimmick Gigantamaxes to be honest. In fact, I don't expect to know what I'll care about until I play it (maybe I've said this), so I haven't been keeping up with the reveals.

I totally agree I was so happy to see the big Meowrh!
It brought back many memories of memeing longcat

Wow I just got hit in the face with nostalgia, thanks for that.

Hey good to see you’re still on! I still remember us trading
and doing voice chat on Pokémon pearl, good times

I want that to be a prophetic dream, especially considering it would mean they ran into space constraints even when working with a limit of 32GB.

Reports are saying the download size
is 10GB, which is not much and I’m getting
the feeling that it’s only that size due to bad
compression on GF’s part.
or good compression with a lot of entropy as an input

I have no idea of what it is you’re trying to say
