I'm almost ready to set the items in the Pyramid Bag.  There's several codes that I want to execute, including one that I want to execute several different times (which is the SID change code).  Do I have to go through steps 2.1 through 2.3 each time I require different items in my bag?  Do I need to lose in the Pyramid in between each time to reset my bag?

EDIT: Also, why does the code for the Mystic Ticket list "Nothing" as an item?  I understand that it is in fact no item, but why is it not just a blank line then?

Unfortunately, yes, you need to redo the "Place Items in Pyramid Bags" each time you want to execute a code that requires different Items thant the precedent. (note that some codes require the same items in the Lv 50 pouch and that on the pastebin about codes most of them are sorted this way).
I don't have a faster way to get acces to the Bag and the Pyramid Bag for now.

Regarding the "Nothing" thing, I changed that for "No Item (0x0000)", hoping to make things clearer.
For most of the codes, you can place other Items in the Pyramid Bags without any interference.
But some of them need this 0x0000 word to work, so I indicated it clearly.

I've been extremely unlucky to find the right poke. Got it finally
PID: 32977426 (Hex) ‭848786470‬ (Dec) Left 22.

Okay, so you will need to :

- Give this Smeargle : 5D xor 08 xor 26 = 0x73 = 115 HP EVs. (10 HP Up + 3 Marill with Macho Brace + 1 Marill + 1 Wishmur)

- Deposit this Smeargle in stead of the Bootstrap Pokémon (Box 12 slot 15), deposit the Poochyena at Box 2 Slot 5, and make an attempt of ACE. (https://forums.glitchcity.info/index.php?topic=6868.msg209366#msg209366 )

- If the game doesn't freeze while you use the ACE Glitch Move, then the issue will be located elsewhere.

Got it and checked it in the same way I obtanied the other glitch items. I gave Smeargle 02 Spd EVs and 88 HP EVs as it was written in the procedure.

Since it's an item, it should be 2 Spd and 88 Def. Is it a typo or did you actually make this mistake ? If it's the latter, your issue probably comes from here. That would mean you got item 0x0200, and increased the id of the pokemon holding it by 0x0058.

I think this typo comes from my post where I wrote (02 Atk, 88 HP) instead of (02 Spd, 88 Def).
I am too used to Atk and HP EVs to obtain stuff, so I completely mistook them while writing this time. Good catch ;)

- Did you give the 8 Beauty Pokéblock to the Glitch Pokémon obtained after the first double-corruption of Horsea ?
Yea, no doubt here.

Quote
- Did you obtain Glitch Items with this procedure ?  https://pastebin.com/qQ91bzuM
I've checked his EVs not only with the calculator but trying to give him 1,2,3 more EVs in order to really check if he got 1 more point on Spd or Def.

- Does Glitch Move 0x1608 looks like this ? https://www.casimages.com/i/180701025637386619.png.html
Yep, exactly.

Quote
- Did you deposit Item 0xBDF0 in the Lv 50 Pouch ?
Did it carefully, so yea. Also, I gave the potion and the elixir in open lvl to empty that bag.

Quote
- If you have an Instant Flee Glitch Move, and if you didn't clone at Battle Tower by soft-resetting after the second "Yes", can you do a quick run at Battle Pyramid to check if 0xBDF0 is there ?
It is inside the bag, just checked it.

Quote
- Can you check if Glitch Item 0x0258 is correct ? (if the Pokémon initially used to obtain it had the right EVs)
Can you try to quickly obtain this Item again ? (02 Atk, 88 HP).
Got it and checked it in the same way I obtanied the other glitch items. I gave Smeargle 02 Spd EVs and 88 HP EVs as it was written in the procedure.

- Do you have a way to extract your save and send it to a PC ?
Mm I think I can't extract my save from the cartridge without an external device, which I don't have.

I'll also give you information about the Smeargles I am using:

PID: 3BACADA3 (hex) 1001172387 (dec) Type 7
IVs: 30 7 29 14 14 14
-----------------------------------------
PID: B48C0751   (hex) ‭3029075793‬ (dec) Type 4

Well, all the checks are still positive.

So, let's try this just to check that the "Poochyena" part of the ACE process is not the faulty one.

- Take a party to catch some Smeargles.
- Go at Artisan's Cave.
- Save.
- Reset.
- Walk/Sweet scent and catch a Smeargle.
- Compute Smeargle's IVs (approximatively) and find back its PID with RNG Reporter.

Smeargle's PID (in hexadecimal) must be of the form : 0xYYYYYYZY, with Z = 1,2,4,5,6 or 7.
- Compute PID (in decimal) modulo 24. (or PID modulo 0x18 in hexadecimal)
This value must be 2,3,8,9,22, or 23. (EVs substructure as 2nd substructure).

- Reset and retry until you find a good Smeargle. (success chance of 3/32)

With this, you will need less than 110 HP EVs to have a value of 0x08 on the first byte of the second substructure of your Smeargle. (the first byte that will be read by the game when looking for the animation of Move 0x1608 with a DMA Translation of 18).

- Once you have such a Smeargle, give me its PID and I will tell you how many HP EVs you need. (if 0xZY is the last byte of Smeargle's PID, you will need : HP EVs required =  0xZY xor 0x08 xor 0x5D )

- Then, train this Smeargle with the right amount of HP EVs (be careful about not catching Pokérus, who knows, you might be extremely lucky)

- After that, deposit this Smeargle in stead of the Bootstrap Pokémon (Box 12 slot 15), deposit the Poochyena at Box 2 Slot 5, and make an attempt of ACE.

- If the game doesn't freeze while you use the ACE Glitch Move, then the issue will be located elsewhere.

I'm sorry, I really have no real clue about the location of the issue for the moment.

If you know someone who has a R4 or a DS linker, as well as a DS tank/lite, you can easily extract your save file with GBABackupTool, but else you won't be able to extract your save for now.
5
I've just tried it and didn't work, so maybe the issue is caused neither the bootstrap poke or the ACE move (I obtained another to check if that was the problem but I still can't trigger the code).

This is a bummer :(

There is definitely some issue somewhere, but it will be tough to find it.
For now, I have some questions to ask you, to be sure that certain controllable things were OK.

- Did you give the 8 Beauty Pokéblock to the Glitch Pokémon obtained after the first double-corruption of Horsea ?
- Did you obtain Glitch Items with this procedure ?  https://pastebin.com/qQ91bzuM
If yes, can you check if your Smeargle "250S,250D" really has 250 Speed EVs and 250 Def EVs ? (with a stat calculator)

- Does Glitch Move 0x1608 looks like this ? https://www.casimages.com/i/180701025637386619.png.html

- Did you deposit Item 0xBDF0 in the Lv 50 Pouch ?

- If you have an Instant Flee Glitch Move, and if you didn't clone at Battle Tower by soft-resetting after the second "Yes", can you do a quick run at Battle Pyramid to check if 0xBDF0 is there ?

I would have liked to use an easier Glitch Item as a test, but I didn't find anything better than 0xBDF0.

- Can you check if Glitch Item 0x0258 is correct ? (if the Pokémon initially used to obtain it had the right EVs)
Can you try to quickly obtain this Item again ? (02 Spd, 88 Def).

- Can you give me your Trainer ID ?
I will then be able to give you info on a Smeargle that has a specific PID to catch, and some EVs to give him in order to test the ACE procedure.
With this specific PID and EVs, placing this Smeargle at Box 12 Slot 15 instead of the Bootstrap Pokémon and performing the ACE setup (with Poochyena, not the Pyramid Bags) will allow you to see if this works fine. (When everything will be aligned correctly, the Animation Pointer of Glitch Move 0x1608 will read the command 0x08 on Smeargle's data, which ends the move animation and doesn't freeze the game.)

- Do you have a way to extract your save and send it to a PC ?

Also I lost the Groudon entry in the Pokedex during the placing of the item, any idea to recover it? (Not a problem if i can't get it back).

I think that this comes from the Instant Pomeg Glitch corruption, while trying to corrupt the Safari Zone guard location.
But I may be wrong, I need to look back at the 4-5 areas where Pokédex flags are located.
Else, I think that getting Groudon's entry once more (hatching a Groudon Egg or getting one via a trade) would give you back the entry.

Edit : Okay, so the fact that all your streaks get set to 0 is apparently because you reset after saying "Yes" when the game asks you to save your game.
Then, I think that the game notices there was a forced soft-reset during a save at a Battle Frontier facility, and sets all your current streaks to 0.

However, if you soft-reset when the message "Do you want to save your game ?" appears, the cloning glitch will still work and you will not suffer from any streak loss.

Thus, entering back into Battle Pyramid (I mean, talking to the host, selecting a mode, a party, then saying Yes) will clear the Pyramid Bag for the mode you chose.
So your Pyramid Bag was fine during the Code Execution, but seemed like "empty" after that.
Notice that this is also not a hindrance when depositing Items in Pyramid Bags because going into an "Open Level" mode will not affect your "Lv 50" Bag, and vice-versa.
Cool, I've always wondered what caused that.

Following my hopeless tries I've found that CODEDSD h becomes into a bad egg sometimes looking for the lvl 190 and .../220 HP bad egg (without triggering ACE). Is it normal?

Yeah, this is due to the fact that when you do a battle with this procedure, the data of the Pokémon that is sent to the battle is partially read on Poochyena's data.
But since this data isn't aligned as proper Pokémon data (the checksum of the "Pokémon" is invalid), the game tries to change this "Pokémon" into a Bad Egg by setting some bits to 1.
By doing that, the game corrupts Poochyena's data, which can end up in giving him an invalid checksum, which turns this Poochyena into a Bad Egg when you go see it back into the PC.

Oh, yeah, I know what you can try.

Try to execute this code :

-Emerald (non jpn) : Test Code
(Pyramid Bag Code Execution, Items to store in Pyramid Bags)
Code Item N° | Identifiant |
01, Lv50 | 0xBDF0 (189 Spd, 240 Def) |

03, Lv50 | |
04, Lv50 | |
05, Lv50 | |
06, Lv50 | |
07, Lv50 | |
08, Lv50 | |
09, Lv50 | |
10, Lv50 | |
01, Open Lv | |
02, Open Lv | |
03, Open Lv | |
04, Open Lv | |
05, Open Lv | |
06, Open Lv | |
07, Open Lv | |
08, Open Lv | |

This code does nothing, and only requires one glitch item (that you already have)

If you try to perform ACE with this code, and if your Bootstrap Pokémon and ACE Glitch Move are correct (and if the setup is correct), nothing should happen when you will use the ACE Glitch Move (in particular, the game will not freeze).

Else, entering another Battle Frontier facility (such as the Battle Tower), or doing other actions don't affect the Pyramid Bag as it is intented that these pouches remain untouched while you don't lose in Battle Pyramid. (I retested it, cloning at Battle Tower doesn't reset these pouches)

Cloning in the battle tower has always been reseting the counter of rounds/win streak battles in any Battle Frontier Building in my cartridge, so I thought it would remove the items (actually it did).

This is strange, I will look up on that.

As this operation is considered by the game as the "animation" of your move, you will not see anything (because no graphical effects/commands were used). The move's effect will trigger and the battle will continue normally.
So after using it it should go back to the Fight, Poke... menu right? How much time does it take?
After using the Glitch Move and triggering the ACE, you can flee the battle, go to Lilycove, and see if Navel Rock is unlocked or not. (if you have the ticket for the island in your Bag)

Thank you. So I can truly confirm that pokes are fine (the bootstrap is holding the right item)

So I don't really know why isn't working. Some context of what I've achieved in my game:
-Hall of fame
-Got all gold symbols (the pyramid one automatically appeared when unlocked Birth Island and Faraway Island)
-No gamesharks, etc.
-Hoenn Dex completed.

I think noone of these affects the metthod, but if it could?

None of these facts affect the Bootstrap Pokémon, the Glitch Move, its mechanic (trying to execute code with the move animation subroutine), or the Pyramid Bag Items, don't worry.

EDIT: After checking if pyramid bag items were stored after cloning in the battle tower, they were deleted. Thus, cloning (at least in battle tower) requires to store again the items. I'll do it and I'll edit after trying tro trigger ACE again.

And last. When I use the ACE Move, how much time do I need to wait until it fully executes the code?

When you went out of Battle Pyramid on your Pyramid Bag storage attempts, did you forfeit out of the Pyramid ?
Did you do other attempts at the Pyramid where you lost / reset ?

Because the only thing that I see that can reset a Pyramid Bag pouch is by attempting Battle Pyramid after a loss (a loss in the mode you choose). [During the speech with the host, the Pyramid Bag pouch gets reset).

When using the ACE move, the code will be executed in a few frames as it consists of basic operations (write/copy-paste values at specific places,...).
As this operation is considered by the game as the "animation" of your move, you will not see anything (because no graphical effects/commands were used). The move's effect will trigger and the battle will continue normally.
Then, you can go and check that your code worked by talking to a NPC, going to a certain location, or looking at a certain Pokémon (depending on the code executed).

Now I'm pretty sure I've got the right Bootstrap poke, however it still gets stuck in the "!" forever. Metarkrai, could you please check the spanish values in the method, in case there is something wrong?

So I checked the whole process, did it on a Spanish Emerald, and things worked fine.

The PC Slots for the Bootstrap Pokémon and the CODEDSD h Pokémon are correct. (Box 12 Slot 15 and Box 2 Slot 5)
The EVs and Glitch Item for the Bootstrap Pokémon are correct. (Item 0x0258, 177 HP, 176 SpAtk, 125 Atk, 8 Beauty Pokéblock)
The Pyramig Bag Items Code to unlock Navel Rock is correct, and the corresponding EVs are correct.

I have a question : During the second EV training in the Bootstrap Pokémon procedure (where you train the Glitch Poké obtained after a double corruption), was this Glitch Pokémon was at level 1 all along ?

Quote
I repeated the whole process to get the bootstrap poke, getting another one (so I'm probably falling to get this boy). To make things easier, what level, gender does this bootstrap poke have?

On the first corruption, you end up with Glitch Pokémon 0x0A05. (this Pokémon is only here to not be at Lv 100 with 0x05060000 exp)(On Spanish Emerald, name : èÂù: ò  ké", Nv 1)

On the second double corruption, you end up with Glitch Pokémon 0x7DB1.
In a Spanish Emerald, this glitch Pokémon has a blank name in the PC, is female, and at Lv 3.
When bringing this Pokémon to the name rater, the first characters that appear are :
 "              Ï OE ¡ b¡ con locur"

This is a good idea, I will update the paste about the Bootstrap Pokémon to give details about how the Bootstrap Pokémon should look like (if the species is correct, this means that the Atk and HP Evs during the training phase were correct).

I'm having an issue corrupting one of my shinies and I can't figure out why. I have three completely legit shinies, two with corruption types misc->growth (useless) and one corruption type 3. For some reason, the corruptions of the type 3 pokemon have a really low success rate; it probably takes around 20 tries to get a successful TID or PID corruption. I believe this may have something to do with the fact that it requires different initiators for each (heart caterpie for TID, pluses for PID) because once I do a successful TID corruption and switch out the initiators, the TID corruption gets reversed a large fraction of the time, much closer to the 6-7/32 figure I see everywhere. It's taking a good two hours or so to do a double corruption, which is not a problem I have experienced yet with my other attempts with other pokemon. The poke I am using was caught at lv 43 (>65535 experience) so that may be a contributing factor as well, I'm just not sure.

Oh yeah, I  never really thought about that but the first corruption can be reversed by the second one if the corruption initiator for the second corruption have to be different.
Don't worry, exp doesn't pose an issue regarding the corruption (you would need at least 0x40000000 exp for that).

If you managed to perform a PID corruption with this corruption initiator, then it's a working corruption initiator (ie it fulfills its role without any issue).
Similarly, if your Pokémon passes the specific criteria for corruption and has a 4th move for a double corruption, then its PID should be corruptible without any issue after the TID corruption.
Out of the 32 possible DMA patterns, there are 6 (or 7) that will allow for a TID corruption and 6 (or 7) that will allow for a PID corruption. Due to the close location of PID and TID in a Pokémon's data, these DMA patterns are all different, so the 6-7/32 corruption chance stands as the success chance for a TID corruption and for a PID corruption (not as a combined chance or as the success chance for TID corruption only).
When you're on emulator, using savestates can cause interferences with the RNG and consequently with the DMA patterns, but on console there shouldn't be any interference or whatsoever.

As Tabbender mentioned, I recommend you to obtain an Instant Pomeg Glitch Pokémon ( https://pastebin.com/wsYtbzpG ), as this will help you fasten a lot the PC Pokémon corruptions.

Quote
Also very interesting, when the poochyena gets the type of corruption that changes the pokemon's name, the entire "ch" gets deleted, resulting in "pooyena." I previously thought that corruption only affected the fourth and eighth letters.

The byte for C is 0xBD, which turns into 0xFD when corrupted, and 0xFD is a control character.
The hex character for "H" might be read as a command for control character 0xFD and thus not appear as a letter, according to its function : https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Character_encoding_in_Generation_III
(some of these effects could be used for music changes or things like that, I tried using 0xFC a bit and crashed the game with command 0x10 in a battle)

Quote
I tried to trigger ACE with no result. This is what happened:

When I get the correct DMA Pattern (/220HP Lvl 190) and use the ACE move some text appears(in spanish version, "sultado es  a ..."), I press A, then appears "!" and suddenly the game keeps playing the battle music but I'm unable to do anything (just turn down the Game Boy, I can't even soft reset).

I'm using the Bootstrap poke as an egg, I have Poochyena in the right spot (it is sent to battle sometimes instead of the bad egg). I tried to use it without being into an egg and it just freezes.

What can be wrong here? Should I check the ACE move, Bootstrap and items or I can dismiss a step?

EDIT: If I clone at battle tower, would the items placed into the pyramid bag disappear?
The "!" thing makes me almost sure your glitch move is the right one. You description of the DMA check process fits as well; my guess is that you got something wrong with either your bootstrap pokemon or your items. If you still have clones of the pokemon before you corrupt them to get the items, maybe you could use some stats calculators online to get their EV's ? You can get their IV's by leveling up a clone with 0 EV and calcing them (then reset if you don't want to lose rare candies). I used these sites when i did this:
http://www.metalkid.info/Pokemon/Calculators/IV.aspx
http://www.psypokes.com/dex/stats.php

Also if it can help, my boostrap pokemon isn't an egg and works just fine.

The Glitch Move is definitely fine, but unfortunately it's near impossible to tell where the issue really was aside from that.
Sure, there are more chances to make a mistake during the training of the Bootstrap Pokémon than on the EVs for Glitch Items identifiants, but one forgotten/extra EV is enough to make the whole procedure not work.

Corrupting the Bootstrap Pokémon into an Egg as the final step doesn't mess with the part of its data that is used as its Bootstrap code (this part of data is stored on the first two double-words of the Growth substructure, whereas a PID/TID corruption will affect the TID, the PID, and eventually the Happiness in the third word of the Growth substructure as it is also used for the Egg Step Cycle counter ).
If you redo this procedure, you can clone the Bootstrap Pokémon and try with both the Egg form and the non-Egg form.

What was the code you were trying to attempt ?
The issue may come from my side if I made a miscalculation/writing error for some EVs in the code or for something in the Spanish Emerald case (which already happened in the past), so I will look back into the Bootstrap Pokémon procedure.

Thank you. Now I have 2 more questions left.
This:
Quote
I'm using pyramid bag items to trigger ACE, and sometimes I need item "Nothing" (I suppose that's 0x0000). To obtain it do I need to just give 1 HP ev to the Pokemon I'm corrupting? And how will it look like? (supposing it would be a blank space in the bag).

Oh yeah, I completely forgot to answer to that part of your post.
Well, "Nothing" is just nothing, don't put any other Item.

I wrote this because for the said code to work, you need to have Item 0x0000 (which is an empty slot) in the Pyramid Bag, whereas for other codes you can technically put other items in the Pyramid Bags without any issue. (but I don't recommend doing this)

Quote
And this: I need to give one hyper potion and one elixir to my Pokemon performing the step to set up the items into the pyramid bag. Do they need a specific spot in the bag?

Oh, are these two items also used as "fillers" between Items that need to be put in the Pyramid Bags ?
If not (if you only need these for a setup and not as Items to deposit in the Pyramid Bags), you can put them anywhere you want in your Bag. (put them before all Pyramid Items, or after all Pyramid Items)
Else, you can use Leppa Berries and Sitrus Berries for PP and HP recovery.
12

EDIT: I saw in a post from Metarkrai in order to trigger ACE easily that you need these glitch Pokemon

Emer Ger : Poké 0xE368 (227 Atk, 104 HP)(Party Slot 236)
But later in the post it says that the Pokes you need to use are these:

Where "Glitch Pokémon" is the Glitch Pokémon |  Fr : 0x2A3B | US : 0x96F9 | Spa : 0x2A3F | Ita : 0x2A39 | Ger : 0xBA64 | that was previously obtained.

Obviously their HEX is different. Which do I need to use?

They are the first ones.
The second ones are Glitch Pokémon that I previously considered (you can see that they require less EVs to be obtained), but I needed to change that in order to remove some PC Pokémon corruption that was happening.
I didn't see that these identifiants were left, but this is fixed now.

Thanks.  I'm starting over.on the entire bootstrap process (beginning with making the Pokéblock recipe).  I have to put the cursor on the egg to see if it's an Egg or a Bad Egg after the first corruption; this is okay as long as I don't grab it, right?

Also, as for corruption initiators that are not turned into Eggs or Bad Eggs, can I use those again for a future corruption?

Yeah, moving the cursor doesn't refresh the Pokémon data, but grabbing it does.

You can use some corruption initiators turned into Eggs, and some turned into Bad Eggs, but I don't recommend that because you would need to check if there was a PID or a TID corruption that happened, and you would also need some checks on the Bad Eggs.
This would also give you a chance to mistake an Egg for another, and to use an Egg/Bad Egg for a corruption initiator when its data are not fit for that.
So cloning them with a Cloning Glitch Pokémon seems safer and easier for me.
13

If you're still stuck there, did you touch the Egg when you obtained it ? (like, to know if it got a PID corruption instead of a TID corruption).
Due to the different trainings on different games, there are too many double-corruption specific criteria to look for, so the "slow" double-corruption (where the Egg obtained after the first corruption must not be touched/moved/have its summary opened) is used instead.

I was thinking that the 4th Move PPs could hinder the success of the corruption, but if that was the case it would have prevented the first corruption of 1.4) to work (and not the second one).
I've been busy and haven't been trying ACE (or checking this site) lately, but yes, I am still stuck here.  I don't believe I touched the egg, but I can't be sure.  I assume my best bet is to redo the bootstrap Pokémon, right?  Unfortunately I didn't clone along the way, so I'll have to start all over with that part.

Unfortunately, in any case like that, you always have to restart the double-corruption process because you cannot infere with the Egg's data to make it corruptible again (because it's an Egg).
Normally, having a working first corruption but a failure of the second corruption is due to you moving the Egg (like putting it into your party to check the species inside), as not touching it will always make the second corruption work (since the Pokémon's data isn't updated in any way).
14
I noticed that the "turn bootstrap Pokémon into an egg" step in the guide is incomplete.  Is it something I need to do (possibly via Pomeg corruption)?

I'm currently working on the bootstrap Pokémon but I just can't get the double corruption on step 1.4 to work.  I followed your guide, but after turning the glitch Pokémon into an egg in the first step of the double corruption (the PID corruption), I can't get it to turn into another glitch Pokémon in the next step (the TID corruption).  I removed everything else from boxes of 1 & 2 after the PID corruption, placed heart Caterpie right before my egg, and am having no success.  Did I likely mess up on EVs?  I would think if I had, it would still double corrupt into something, albeit not what I want.

If you're still stuck there, did you touch the Egg when you obtained it ? (like, to know if it got a PID corruption instead of a TID corruption).

I already saw this glitch on a page about Gen III glitches, but I don't exactly remember where.

It is mentioned on PRAMA ( http://www.prama-initiative.com/index.php?page=glitches-mineurs-rse#Centre ) but I remember having seen it on another page.
