General Discussion / Re: dyed my hair

If you're going to make a frivolous topic solely about your hair, at least have the decency to post a picture.

I take offense at the pirates vs. ninjas one. We're very serious about that debate here.

The name sounds familiar, though that's probably the fault of another glitch hunter here. Welcome back, and enjoy your stay.

Pokémon Discussion / Re: Mimic-Rage Metagame or All-Moves-Allowed Metagame

Well, I'd probably slap skill swap on shedinja in doubles with spiritomb, but besides that I'd probably use an agility-sheer cold machamp.  Also, a bunch of things would love spore, extremespeed, etc.  A swords dance-extremespeed/water jet bibarel could do some real damage.

Skill Swap fails when used by a Pokemon with the ability Wonder Guard.

Generation I Glitch Discussion / Re: Mewtwo & Swift in Generation I

Vulpix can only learn Energy Ball via breeding in Generation IV, not by TM. These may be oversights or intentional, but unless one of us can get a hold of Game Freak and interrogate them, we won't know.

Wiki Discussion / Re: NIWA - should we consider joining them?
« on: October 24, 2010, 11:36:30 pm »
Server stress is definitely major issue, so we'll have to wait until malacoda says something on that.

Assuming that he agrees to take care of that, it would be good to reconcile our dysfunction with Bulbapedia when it comes to glitches. However, as you mentioned, this would be awkward; Bulbapedia already has information on glitches, but we have greater depth. Perhaps a discussion with the current NIWA would help resolve issues before joining. Maybe a statement like "We're thinking about joining, but are concerned that info currently on our wiki would conflict with that on others" would help start discussion.

Once these problems are solved, I agree with Yuzihax that there is no doubt that they will accept us. After all, they accepted a Pikmin fanon wiki.

Debate Wars / Re: City or Country
« on: September 27, 2010, 11:06:10 am »
Anything but a big city; a smaller town or suburb would do, or even the countryside if it has good internet. I can't stand the pollution from big cities, whether it's light pollution, noise pollution, or smog. Los Angeles in particular is extremely irritating.

I take it this was based on experience with the Pokewalker?

Generation IV Glitch Discussion / Re: Mimic-Rage Glitch Discussion

Trick Room Aggron or Dragon Dance Flygon are my favorites. Trick Room Aggron would go something like this:

Mr. Mime (which learns Mimic naturally) gets the move Rage from, say, Dunsparce. I then teach it Trick Room. A Level 77 Relicanth (or lower, but 77 makes it easier) imported with Mimic from Emerald then Rage/Transforms into Mr. Mime, gaining the move Trick Room. One Rare Candy later and my Relicanth knows Head Smash, Trick Room, and Rage. An Aron with Mimic imported from Emerald then Rage/Transforms into Relicanth, gaining Head Smash and Trick Room (as well as Rage and Relicanth's fourth move, preferably Aqua Tail to remove the tutoring process).

The logistics involved with Rage/Transforming can be as complex as breeding, but with more room for experimentation.

l2use smeargle

Don't you hate it when you do a long and technical explanation of something and then you realize much later that there is a much simpler way? It happens all the time.

All right, but next time I suggest as soon as we get important posts we back them up to here or something.

I was going to test if my glitch (the glitch pokemon one) worked in a local battle but I would need to do some background first, do your pokemon get healed before going into a local batle (as in the upstairs battle rooms)?

They do, but it might be worth testing the move Fling with a Pomeg Berry after lowering the HP of the Pokemon to be Pomeg'd to the correct amount.

Indeed I do. </stupid mistake>

Pokémon Discussion / Re: Tombstoner's RNG Thread

I really need to learn to do this stuff D:
Thing is I need to find a shiny on Diamond to get my SID and I cbf battling for ages to find a shiny, and yet I barely play it now. (lol)

RNG Reporter allows you to use 4 to 8 chained shinies to find your SID. I recommend using a guide.

Aside from OT and country of origin, the European Michina Arceus and the Toys R Us Arceus are identical. Perhaps the glitch was fixed in PAL versions of the game.

Pokémon Discussion / Re: Major error in the anime!
« on: August 20, 2010, 02:20:42 am »
IIRC in Pokemon Special Red's Pikachu is explained to have special powers that let it hit ground types or something, but this is just one of many examples of the anime being completely backwards. Remember Ash's supercharged Swellow in his battle against Tate and Liza? They seem to be rather fond of making up moves as plot devices. I suppose that it moves the story along, but it's still unrealistic.
