General Discussion / Good to see this place alive!
« on: July 07, 2013, 02:52:23 am »
Hi, all.

Some of you folks that have stuck around here for a long time may remember me, but to most of you I'm probably a new face. Long story short, I used to mess around on this forum when I was around 14-16 years of age, just having discovered the wonders of the internet. For some reason I was drawn here and loved reading about Pokemon glitches and all that jazz. I never really contributed anything... At all. =P But I had a great deal of fun (sometimes at the expense of others) and I learned quite a bit. Not just about glitches and Pokemon, but about social interaction. I never really had a lot of friends growing up, and I was a pretty solid introvert well into my teens.

This place was a starting point of sorts for me to break out of my shell. Not long after I hit 16, I started talking to more people, making friends at my high school. I had a circle of people I could rely on. I starting going out, I got my first girlfriend. I got interested in music, joined a band. I became a social butterfly... But I deviated away from the internet life I had. Truthfully, I had forgotten about it almost completely within the following years.

GCL (and another forum I was active in around the same time) had a serious, irrevocable hand in developing me into the person I am today. And I like who I am and where I stand, so it's only fit and proper that I give credit where credit is due.

Thank you, Glitch City Labs. Thank you, everyone who has had a hand in it. Whether you helped get this place off the ground, were part of the members I interacted with, or you help keep it afloat today, I applaud you.

I thought about the site today, spontaneously, and what all it had done for me. That prompted me to try my old password... Which prompted me to lurk around the threads for the bit... And here I am spilling my guts. =P I just wanted to congratulate you guys on still being here, still being true. It's great seeing this place still up and running. Makes my heart feel good! <3

I'm entering into my junior year in college in a couple of months, I've got a job, and I'm still with that silly band of mine. So I'm not quite saying I'm gonna make a return, because I'm as busy as someone that's really busy... But I may check it in my down time and post once in a while.

Excellent job, guys.

Much love,
Introductions / Hey.

Pokémon Discussion / New Pikachu Float At Macy's
« on: November 23, 2006, 09:14:05 pm »
The new Pikachu Balloon

The new balloon features Pikachu chasing after a Poke Ball, and Pikachu's cheeks also light up. The new Pikachu balloon is 53.5 feet high, 36.9 feet wide, 40.8 feet long, and filled with 15,000 cubic feet of helium. This is the sixth year that the Pikachu balloon has been part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I thought this was interesting...I wached it this morning myself.

Well, if you don't remember (a week or two ago) then could I suggest we start over?  Mabye a Peace-that-no-one-rembers-treaty-signing-pact?

I think it'd be a good idea for all of us to forget mine, your neighbors, and everyone's wrongdoings.

I want to be called Nobody.

Allow me to re-re-introduce myself.  I am but a nobody.
Whatever you know about me from my past names, forget it, be it good or bad.
I am starting over.

And Abwayax, I am also resolved to not let your insults hurt me.

I also like to read about glitches.  That is why I come here.  Because I like to be informed.  I belive the pursuit of knowlage is very admirable.

Abwayax, I don't care anymore.  I'm giving up trying.  I don't know or care what your beef is, but whatever it is I'm ignoring it.  Good day.

Awwight.......I can post it now that the site's back up.  Here we go...

Iron Spriter Glitch City is a spriting variation on the show Iron Chef America.  You have 4 iron spriters, and 3 judges.  Currently they are:
Iron Spriters (in rank order):
1.Wild MissingNo. Appeared!
3.?Guest Slot?
The main judge (Chaos) will hold the contests between Iron Spriters and give them the guidelines they must make their sprites by.  (Ex. A fusion of two certain Pokemon, a recoloration of a certain Pokemon ect.) The judges will vote on the sprites, and the spriter with the most votes wins and goes up a rank.  If spriter #2 beats spriter #1, they switch ranks.  Simple.  The guest slot in the judges list is a free space, but not permanent.  One person will sign up to be the third judge for that battle and vote.  They lose their position after the battle.  (Unless that person repetedly signs up and no one else wants to be the third judge, and then they?ll get a permanent slot.)  Since there are free spaces in the spriter section, anyone can sign up and freely join the iron spriters.  One last thing, and probably the most important: challengers.  If a person not in the iron spriters wishes to challenge an iron spriter they?ll go about it in a normal spriting battle, but if the challenger wins he/she takes the #4 slot in the iron spriters, the challenged iron spriter gets kicked out, and the other spriters move up a rank.  (Ex. Challenger beats #2 iron spriter.  #2 iron Spriter gets kicked out, and the challenger gets #4 slot.  #4 iron spriter moves to slot #3 and #3 iron spriter gets #2 slot.)  Simple.  But fret not, if you lose a battle, you can always challenge again.

Now, for this to work there has to be some more poeple.....Like telling people about it.  That's be a good thing.
General Discussion / Funny news report.
« on: July 27, 2006, 08:54:45 pm »
Well, two actually.  On this night's CBS news, they had a report on orcestral video game music.  Wich was cool, but the reporter pronounced "Mario" as "Maaryo".  My parents and I laughed, for all of us knew how Mario was pronounced.

And then, on my local news, there was a house break in.  This guy came in through a window, scaring a 15 year-old girl.  But fortunately, her two brothers were at home with her.  The two brothers (ages not given) beat up the intruder and fored him out of the house.  I can just imgine the two guys saying, "Yeah, that'll teach you to scare our sister!!"  Lol.
Pokémon Discussion / I just started playing my emerald agian...
« on: July 27, 2006, 08:48:18 pm »
Yeah...I've been slacking on playing my Emerald for a while.  So, I picked it up yesterday and during battle, the 1st gen's Pokemon's cries stood out to me.  I remember that back then, the progamers didn't have too much sound bytes to work with.  I heard their cries now, and could here the pixelated sound, but it had a refined sound to it.  Know what I mean?  Anyway, I like that.
Please don't be angry if this has been talked about here, because I just heard it.  I'm not even sure if it's true, but it's worth testing.  This is all the information I could get, because it was in a chatroom.  I really doubt this as creditable, but here goes:

Basically if you have enough HP EV's, and give your Pokemon a HP decreasing berry (the pomeg) while it has one HP left, then it's HP will go below zero and become an insanely high number.

This is all the info I could gather and if you guys haven't heard it (because I certiantly haven't) you might want to test it.  It's supposedly for Emerald version BTW.  It's probobly fake or been tested, but you can never be sure.  Again, don't get mad at me, please!
