Rate My Team / Which Gardevoir should I use?
« on: September 28, 2009, 05:51:12 pm »
I've been deciding on what moves I should put on my Gardevoir, and I've been wondering if I should do Parattraction, Rest-talking, or Rest/Chesto ^_^

Gardevoir ♀
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Attract
- Thunderwave

Gardevoir ♀
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Gardevoir ♀
@Chesto Berry
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- third move (I currently have Attract)
- Rest

Note that this is for in-game rather than competitive, and I'm not sure which one would work best (I probably won't use the Rest-Talker moveset, but Parattraction sounds nice ^_^)
Video Games Discussion / Best Final Fantasy game
« on: August 18, 2009, 05:23:34 pm »
Final Fantasy is one of my favourite video game series...

Anyway, my favourite Final Fantasy game is, of course, Final Fantasy VII ^_^

I love FFVII because it is probably the most famous FF game ever, and relates most to the real world (I compare WMG/Viacom to Shinra a lot, especially in blogs or on YouTube)... Oh, how I just love to wipe out Sephiroth...

Final Fantasy VI comes in a close second... too bad Square doesn't seem interested in remaking it for the DS (come on, FF3 and FF4 were remade, why not FF5 and FF6 yet?) -_-
Pokémon Discussion / What type combinations would you like to see?
« on: August 11, 2009, 02:17:53 pm »
Yea, here are some I would like to see in future games...

* Dragon/Dark with Levitate - That would be awesome for a legendary Pok?mon...
* Steel/Poison - Like a landmine or something? And don't give it Levitate, make it like the Magnemite family...
* Electric/Grass - I had an idea for something like this, I think an electric iguana ^_^
* Water/Fire - Would be interesting to see...
* Fighting/Flying - You know you want this type combo... that way we can pair Flying with every type to date
* Pure Flying - Like a cloud or something, I guess
* Bug/Psychic - Hmm... why haven't they done this typing yet? It would be a great idea, tbh...
* Psychic/Dark - Hmm... evolution of Girafarig, perhaps? ^_^

What other type combinations would you like to see in future generations? ^_^
Pokémon Discussion / Most annoying things in a Pokémon game
« on: August 07, 2009, 01:09:27 pm »
What do you think is the most annoying thing in a Pok?mon game?

For me, it's when I run out of balls when catching a legendary, after all of them only shake once or don't shake at all... that message "Aww! Almost had it!" or "Oh no! The Pok?mon broke free!" is annoying after seeing it like 30 times in a row -_-

Also, stuff like "Champion Cynthia used Full Restore on Garchomp!" after missing a one-hit KO by like 1 HP... and then you KO it on the second try...

And in Red and Blue, there was also the chance that a Pok? Ball could actually MISS the Pok?mon... as can be seen with stuff like the legendary birds and Mewtwo, as well as the Safari Zone -_-

So, what else do you find annoying in Pok?mon games?
Forum Games / The "Create a Pokémon Attack" game

I found this thread already, but it was over a year old, and I didn't feel like bumping it, so... let's start a new one ^_^

Yea, I think some Pokémon should get evolutions or baby forms...

* Tauros/Miltank - put an end to the "you can get a Tauros from a Miltank egg" rumour already, just have a baby form that will evolve into either of these Pokémon depending on gender
* Skarmory - This Pokémon should have either a baby form or evolution (or both?) because I always thought it should have gotten either since Ru/Sa...
* Kangaskhan - Why no baby form for Kangaskhan yet? It seems logical that there should be a baby form of Kangaskhan...
* Sandshrew - This Pokémon could use a baby evolution, because I always considered it a counterpart to Pikachu (don't know why... maybe because Pikachu and Sandshrew were both mouse-like?)
* Farfetch'd - why no evolution for this yet? I'd like to see an evolution for Farfetch'd, because that would help improve its stats...
* Dunsparce - needs an evolution (maybe into a Ground-type or something?)
* Pachirisu - should get an evolution in the fifth generation, preferably by Thunder Stone (come on, the Thunder Stone is only used on first-generation Pokémon, AFAIK...)
* Pinsir - why did Scyther get an evolution, but not Pinsir? -_-
* Luvdisc - I've been speculating an evolution for this Pokémon since early in the third generation...

Any other Pokémon that you think could use an evolution or baby form? ^_^
Pokémon Discussion / Regrets

Have you ever regretted anything you've done in a Pok?mon game? I can name a couple of recent things...

I tried everything to catch Uxie... False Swiping it down to 1 HP and sleeping it... I had to reset a fuckload of times! I eventually just gave up on Uxie and just killed it (and it gave s**t for EXP, too!) I tried every type of ball (Ultra, Dusk, and Timer), but Uxie just wouldn't stay in the ball...

I had to reset four times, and I still had no luck, and I was saving the Master Ball for Giratina or Cresselia, so I just decided to kill Uxie instead... on my first try, I blacked out because I was out of Pok?mon, and had to reset; the second try, I ran out of balls; the third try, I ran out of Dusk Balls and actually banged my DS so hard that it froze; the fourth try, I used at least 30 balls, with no luck at all (at this point, I gave up and just killed her instead) >_<

Another, rather minor one, is wasting an Ice Beam TM on Weavile, who is probably the Ice-type with the lowest Spec. Attack... (and I don't want to blow all my Pok?money to buy casino coins for another Ice Beam TM, so I'm stuck with Blizzard for Gyarados...)

Yet another one is wasting a Thief TM, which I accidentally overwrote with a False Swipe TM on Sneasel so I could use it for catching Pok?mon -_-
Pokémon Discussion / Problems with G/S/C on VBA
« on: June 17, 2009, 06:14:29 pm »
I'm having some problems running Pokémon Gold, Silver, or Crystal on VBA emulator o_O;;

When I save and reset, it always asks me to reset the clock, and it says "TIME NOT SET" on the NEW GAME/CONTINUE screen, and I go into the game and it gives me a "The clock's time may be wrong. Please reset the time." error after I select Continue and it shows the time as "???"...

This never used to happen to me with VBA until recently. Any idea of what might be wrong? Is it a problem with VBA, my GSC ROMs or just my save files?

EDIT: Never mind... problem solved... could someone lock this?
Pokémon Discussion / Shinies and Pokérus
« on: June 16, 2009, 07:46:07 am »
How many shiny Pokémon have you gotten? Besides the red Gyarados, I caught a shiny Tauros in Pokémon Crystal back in 2003 or so, and a shiny Electrike in 2007 on Pokémon Emerald o_O;; (as a stroke of luck, when I traded a Cranidos for a Shieldon on the GTS recently, the Shieldon I received was a shiny, too!)

So, yea... I've had three shinies total ^_^

Now, onto Pokérus... I remember getting it when I was EV training a Swablu/Altaria back on Sapphire (I still have the Altaria in my box, not taking it out because it would remove the Pokérus...)

Yea, have any stories about shiny Pokémon or Pokérus you feel like sharing? ^_^
I don't know if anyone here is a Chrono Trigger fan (and sorry if this is the wrong forum), but...

Crimson Echoes, a fan-hack of Chrono Trigger, received a cease-and-desist issued by SquareEnix last week. This also brought down all of the other Chrono Trigger hacking-related sections of the site, including the Retranslation and the Temporal Flux hacking tool.

I'm disappointed at what happened, but at least this hasn't happened to the Pok?mon hacking sites yet (goth forbid Glitch City going down due to a C&D, as the entire site revolves around research and hacking for glitches)...

General Discussion / Obama, Hillary, or McCain?
« on: April 15, 2008, 08:03:25 pm »
I'm pretty much undecided by this point, as it's still too early to tell =/

Anyways, we will either end up with the first black (and third youngest) president, the first female president, or the oldest president ever...

So, who would you rather see as president: Obama, Hilary, or McCain?
Video Games Discussion / Sonic life counter glitches
« on: March 15, 2008, 09:19:42 pm »
Sonic 1 and 2 have some life counter glitches, which will give you 255 lives if performed correctly.

• One glitch in Sonic 1 involves hitting an enemy at the end of a level, while the end of level scoring screen is shown. (It can also be done by debugging so that Sonic falls off the bottom of the screen.) When you arrive at the next level, you will end up with 0 lives. Kill Sonic again to end up with a "[glitch]5", meaning 255 lives. This is fixed in Sonic 2.
• A double-death glitch can be performed in Labyrinth Zone in Sonic 1 in the underwater handlebar section by releasing from the handlebar as soon as Sonic drowns, landing on the spikes, and causing a double death. The same "[glitch]5" will appear in the life counter.
• A drown/time-over glitch occurs in both Sonic 1 and 2, where you wait until the timer is down to the last 30 or so seconds, then enter water. Time it correctly so that the drown countdown ends at 9:59 and you will get another form of the double-death glitch. This behaviour was fixed in Sonic 3 and later.
• In Sonic 2, if a player dies from time-over in a 2P Versus mode while on their last life, the Game Over routine will be interrupted and the results screen will be displayed. The player who died will appear to have 0 lives, but if they die again, the counter will display "y5" (255). This, AFAIK, was not fixed in any Sonic 2 revision.

I haven't seen the fourth one documented anywhere before, but the first three can be found here.
