Video Games Discussion / Zelda speedruns
« on: December 08, 2010, 12:49:41 pm »
Throughout the years, many of the zelda games have been worked on to find glitches to ultimately use in a speedrun to get the fastest time ever at a game. There are some extremely impressive times for games that, without glitches, could take over 10x the amount of time to complete. Some games use a series of glitches strung together to speed up the game (such as Majora's Mask), some have lots of glitches, but rely on one rather large glitch to skip the majority of the game (such as the RBA trick in Ocarina of Time) and others use screen warping to quickly get into boss areas and complete the game (Link's awakening and A Link to the Past). If you've played them, then remember back to the time when you spent days, sometimes months completing these games. And then look at the times that these games have been completed in by exploiting glitches, large and small, and knowing the exact route to take for the fastest outcome. These were all TASed and are the current world records for these games:

Ocarina of time: 56 minutes
Majora's mask: 1 hour, 29 minutes.
Link's Awakening: 3 minutes 40 seconds
A Link to the past: 3 minutes 44 seconds.

These incredible times for these games are the result of years of glitch hunting finding, and game practicing.

More tricks are constantly being found and OoT and MM TASes are always finding new tricks to speed up completing the game. I have not included some of the other games that have good timesavers in (like Twilight princess) because I only checked on the times for the most impressive/worked on games.
Introductions / Hello Again
« on: December 08, 2010, 10:42:11 am »
Hey there, although I'm not new, I've not been active for a year. I'm sure there are many new people I've not met as well as many more projects and stuff. Seeing as I've forgotten/don't know a lot of the stuff/people on the site, I'm taking this opportunity to introduce myself... Again.

Hey! I'm G&S and I missed this forum so I came back. I probably will take part in forum games and such but I will focus more than I used to on the more serious things like projects and work on content. I am extremely knowledgeable on zelda glitches and speedrunning, so that is my speciality rather than pokémon. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of old faces and hope to settle into the community again.

General Discussion / Auto-tune the news
« on: August 17, 2009, 10:20:51 am »
this is auto-tune the news, they're really funny. basicly, people have used auto-tune and mucked around with voices but put it into songs. I love it. here are the vids. 5 and 6 are my faves.

Just watch 5 and 6 if you cant be bothered to see them all or don't have time, the others are no-where near as good.

My laptop crashed yesterday  :( Twice  D:

Everything was working fine, then all of a sudden, a black screen with thick green bars across it came up. It said in white letters smoething about disc or restore or something then 30. it kept on going up in 5's untill it was about 70 then the Laptop just turned off... I turned it on again and it came up with the "Windows was not shut down properly" message. I presed enter to run normally and logged in. It was really slow and nothing wanted to stop loading. I double clicked on firefox and it did the same thing again. so I Unpluged the charger and left the Laptop off for the night. The next morning (Today) It worked fine.

It was horrible.

why did it happen and has it ever happend to you before? is it because of that website I went on?

Art / 150 New pokémon
« on: July 12, 2009, 03:59:37 pm »
I am going to try to start a project. in this project, 150 new pok?mon sprites will be made by members of the GCLF. of course, 150 is the dream goal. even 20 sprites and I would be happy.

Anyway, the whole point in this is that not only those who are skilled at spriting can do it, anyone can. It does not matter if it looks a bit bad. No one judges on this thread. well.. er acually you can say well done and stuff erm.. yeah.

Remember, save as a PNG so you can edit it realy easily and also, try to make them face mid-left like they would in a fight. if you can't do that then okay, it does not matter. You can make up your own name for the pokemon you create or just post it and we will all decide on a name later.

I want to see some serious ones in there and some strange abstract or funny ones.

so here's my first one:

A grape pokemon

I made a shiny for it but you don't have to unless you want to:

can't wait to see yours!
I think i remember.....

count me in as judge.
