General Discussion / Re: Yeniaul's Discord Server (and rules)

am i banned or something, because none of the links work for me and i'm really itching to get back into glitching.rhyme intentional

my discord is big man dan#3383 if anybody who is an admin wants to check
If there's a ban from your IP, it'll tell you the link's busted even if you're not the one that was banned. Got a proxy? VPN? You can find some good free lists for proxies at least...
SRAM probably can be unlocked manually, but how this would be accomplished is beyond me.
If you could make the game corrupt itself with ace that would be cool but there would be a risk of also corrupting your save file

The risk wouldn't be that great, the game would have to miraculously unlock SRAM before any save corruption would take place.

Nothing too terribly intresting would occur, the game would probably Glitch Dimension before anything noticable happened.

Can you unlock SRAM maunually? Wondering if you can use TM25 to edit pokémon in the box.
Write 0Ah or anything else ending in A to ROM addresses 0000-1FFF to unlock SRAM.
I don't entirely know how this works, technically... How is the invalid data loaded and why does this corrupt so much memory?

Was doing pomeg glitch on hardware for the first time. I used Mudkip as my second fainted pokemon, and on this particular day, I had my headphones plugged in at max volume. Everything was going great until I viewed Mudkip's stats, in which the game decided to softlock and blare glitch sounds in my ears.

That's called the "GBA Crash sound", more commonly known as "OH s**t I f**k UP: The Sound".

Padding is what makes Microsoft and Apple products inferior.
Simple answer? Don't.

But if you absolutely have to, use Gold Teeth, Elixer and Poke Flute, and quantities 40h, 52h, and 49h respectively. These correspond to (in order):
Code: [Select]
ld b,b
ld c,c
ld d,d
These just waste time. Some emulators may see them as breakpoints, however, so be careful.
VC is approximately as accurate as VBA is. So as long as you don't need exact emulation to run it (or SRAM execution) you'll be fine.

Hm, but the lookup will fail for Pokémon not in the table, no ?
Pokémon not in the table when traded from Generation I to Generation II convert according to values extrapolated beyond the table.
Did we reallyexpect anything else? Honestly?
ISSOtm, why did you have to ask? This IS Gens 1+2 we're talking about here.
You could just set 8F to make you encounter Mew. Just saying.

You should edit D15A/5C/5E to $0F, then.
Putting a 0xF (15) is the ID of Nidoran female. He means 0x15 (21) which is Mew's ID.
Wow, ISSOtm, you're getting a bit out of practice here.
Is Aevilia taking too much of a toll on you or something?

when trading from gen 2 to 1 using johto guard, do the type bytes of the pokemon stay the same, or are they set to whatever type the gen 1 equivalent is?

ie: use johto guard to trade lugia to gen 1, is it still psychic/flying type?
Most likely, as IIRC the type bytes weren't shuffled around between the two. Give it a shot!
What is the first glitch Pokemon that can be encountered in the first gen games, Other than level 100 nidoking?

If you use the save corruption glitch you get access to Q (FF)/'M (FF) and other glitch Pokémon from the expanded party. So possibly you might be able to deposit glitch Pokémon that appear there and do a glitchLocke with them.

Otherwise the first Pokémon you can encounter is possibly MissingNo., such as from Misty's Starmie or a trainer in Saffron City's Fighting Dojo (available early with Brock Through Walls) but be warned that in Yellow this MissingNo. (one of the regular MissingNo.) will freeze the game unless it's the first time you encountered a glitch Pokémon and you wiped your save file with Up+Select+B.

Other glitch Pokémon are possible with Special stats 191-199, and it's possible an underflowed Level 100 Pokémon could have the Special stat you need.

This image is also useful for showing the Pokémon you can obtain with trainers in Red/Blue:

Hope this helps. :)
Wait. I forgot how the Brock Nidoking thing worked. It's a variant of the Mew Glitch, right? If so, is there a way to find the right Pokemon to trigger a low-index Missingno. or something? (I doubt any of them will have stats high enough to get into the 100s range before Brock, but still...)

I don't think that's been found yet. If you want, though, you can start breaking s**t and help us find one!

dd.wav (In the dungeon soundtrack)is 666 KB lol. Also why are there lots of really long glitch pokemon cries and whats up with them being like songs in the game but with speed or pitch changes for example. Like bf.wav (In the Dungeon soundtrack)
This explains it, even though it's about textboxes. It's pretty much exactly the same.
I think 14
I thought this make like 25 or something. Isn't there a list floating around somewhere?
