Generation II Glitch Discussion / Re: My crystal just went weird.
« on: August 06, 2009, 03:18:34 pm »
Yea, something similar happened to my Red version o_O

I think Red was the first Pok?mon game I ever owned, followed by Blue, then Silver and Crystal (my sister had Yellow and Gold)...

My Crystal still works great, but I think Silver is just about dead... and I'm surprised my Blue is still working after 10 years o_O;;

Silver, last I checked, gave "TIME NOT SET", but the save file was still there...

And, I won't have to worry about Sapphire, Emerald, Leafgreen, Diamond, or Platinum for a long time ^_^

I prefer Diet Coke, and store-brand lemon-lime, black cherry, and grape ^_^

*puts it in the trash*

*throws Pok?mon MagmaRuby and AquaSapphire at the next poster*
Some things I would like to see in Heart Gold and Soul Silver...

* The ability to rematch gym leaders! For example, the second time you fight Morty, he could have a Misdreavus, two Gengars, and a Haunter, and maybe a Hoenn ghost Pokémon (either Banette or Dusclops) ^_^
* Obtaining your choice of Kanto starter after fulfilling certain conditions (maybe either after beating the Elite Four, obtaining the National Dex, or beating Red?)
* Maybe some new features, like a Fishing Contest as well as a Bug-Catching Contest... and bring back the Kanto Safari Zone!
* Maybe have the Lucky Number show every day instead of every week?
* Add something like a Poké Radar which can be obtained after beating the E4/getting the National Dex (either put it in the Key Pocket or even an extra page in the PokéGear), so they can put Hoenn Pokémon in some places

I can't wait until this game comes out...

[Edit: Also, could GameFreak please make Murkrow, Misdreavus and Houndour available BEFORE the Elite Four? Waiting until Kanto to catch these was annoying in the original GSC...]
Emulation & ROM Hacking / Re: Pokemon Crystal RAM map
« on: July 31, 2009, 09:43:46 pm »
I'd like to add a few...

C2A9 - Currently playing BGM
DC79 - Current number of Park Balls (Bug-Catching Contest)
D46C, D46D - Bug-Catching Contest timer?
DABD - Type of Ball Kurt makes in Azalea Town
DAD4 - Set when Ho-Oh is captured/defeated?
DAD5 - Set when Lugia is captured/defeated?
DB51 - Set when Sudowoodo is captured/defeated?
DB5C - Set when the Red Gyarados is captured/defeated?
DB60 - Set when Snorlax is captured/defeated?
D851, D852, D853 - Amount of Pok?money Mom has

I'm surprised that that wasn't in the RAM map yet, actually ^_^
Shuckle - Bug/Steel anyone? (Of course, it'd be 4x weak to Fire, but still...)
Zangoose - a baby form for this, along with an evolution, would be another great idea (they did that with Roselia ^_^)
Doduo - A single-headed baby form? I'm fine with that...
Electrode - why did Magneton get an evolution, but not Electrode? (if they do, please make it more Defense-based than Speed-based or something...)
Jynx - maybe this could use an evolution too... both Electabuzz and Magmar have one already, so why not Jynx?
Lapras - come on, this Pok?mon could've used a baby form since G/S... (I think one of the scrapped Pok?mon for G/S was a baby Lapras, actually o_O)
Girafarig - maybe a Psychic/Dark for its evolution, and plain Normal if it has a baby form
Yea, I think some Pokémon should get evolutions or baby forms...

* Tauros/Miltank - put an end to the "you can get a Tauros from a Miltank egg" rumour already, just have a baby form that will evolve into either of these Pokémon depending on gender
* Skarmory - This Pokémon should have either a baby form or evolution (or both?) because I always thought it should have gotten either since Ru/Sa...
* Kangaskhan - Why no baby form for Kangaskhan yet? It seems logical that there should be a baby form of Kangaskhan...
* Sandshrew - This Pokémon could use a baby evolution, because I always considered it a counterpart to Pikachu (don't know why... maybe because Pikachu and Sandshrew were both mouse-like?)
* Farfetch'd - why no evolution for this yet? I'd like to see an evolution for Farfetch'd, because that would help improve its stats...
* Dunsparce - needs an evolution (maybe into a Ground-type or something?)
* Pachirisu - should get an evolution in the fifth generation, preferably by Thunder Stone (come on, the Thunder Stone is only used on first-generation Pokémon, AFAIK...)
* Pinsir - why did Scyther get an evolution, but not Pinsir? -_-
* Luvdisc - I've been speculating an evolution for this Pokémon since early in the third generation...

Any other Pokémon that you think could use an evolution or baby form? ^_^

^ nah
< hates Katy Perry
V also hates Katy Perry?
I'll wager $0.02 on Katy Perry... seriously, I can't stand her music (how the f**k did "I Kissed a Girl" become a huge hit? Katy Perry isn't even a real lesbian!)
Is there any way to do the Celebi glitch on an emulator? I'd like to try it on VBA and see if it works there...

(I would assume that you press Ctrl-R to reset when the "SAVING... DO NOT TURN OFF POWER" screen comes on, but before "POWER" ^_^)

The cloning glitch is VERY possible since you can do the Color Swapping Character glitch on VBA on Crystal Version by exiting the emulator.
Thanks! I'll go ahead and try it now on my Silver on VBA ^_^

[Edit: Yea, it does work on VBA, I just tried cloning a level 2 Hoothoot with a Poké Ball attached, and it worked! I was expecting it to either have no effect or produce a ?????...]
Debate Wars / Re: 2012

I think 2038 is another year we have to worry about, because of that whole Unix time thing o_O;;

And just to think, Mac OS X and Linux users will be affected in 2038, but they'll probably be updated to use 64-bit Unix time by then, so basically the only thing that will be affected by the Y2K38 bug is embedded systems, like ATMs, cash registers, and cable boxes...

Just imagine how many things we take for granted are powered by an embedded system which uses that 32-bit Unix timestamp, they'll start fucking up because they'll think it's 1901 instead of 2038 >_>
