GlitchBattle 0.5 Beta

Yes, I said beta. Here's the new features in this release.

  • Music (a midi clip that's from a battle I don't know, but it's obviously Pokemon)
  • Sprites - all 151 1st-gen, plus 'M
  • All non-glitched attacks are in the database
  • Pokemon - 'M to Raichu, also has (commented out) code for Koffing to Mew, however that must not be uncommented until the first 108 are done
  • Effects scripting - done by a script interpreter so the attack effects can be edited outside of the code just like the databases. Obviously not done, and here are some examples:
    • Rest does not work
    • Attacks that force you to wait before (Solarbeam, Sky Attack, etc) or after (Hyper Beam) the attack is used will work, but not force you to wait.
    • Stat boosting does work, and the variable is modified, however the variable is not used to compute stats yet.
    • Explosion and Selfdestruct may or may not work - I don't think the first 26 pokemon have the move

Team builder. Notice the menu - you can save and load team files. Also notice you can nickname your pokemon now.


My preferred team for testing purposes.


At this point, the corny music would play. It doesn't loop.


Venusaur puts Ivysaur in his place. Notice that it says my Ivysaur was paralyzed *before* Venusaur attacked - that's a bug that deals with the order the transmissions are recieved, or something.


Can Charizard turn the tables on Venusaur?

Poison'd.


... and burned. Poison and burn have identical effects - the only difference is that burn lowers your attack (not implemented here yet), and poison harms your pokemon while you walk (irrelevant)


Our only hope is a bug.


The message box you get when you lose. Due to a wierd flaw in my code, this thing appears 3 times.
