Unscrewing the screw allows you to take apart the two plastic halves that make up the outside of the cartridge.

No, it's not illegal. It undoubtedly voids your warranty, but so does dropping the GBA.

Well one time my Fire Red was eaten by my dog. The chip was ok but the plastic was messed up and it would not fit into a gameboy. So I Unscrewed the game, took the chip out, and put in a recently made empty cartrage. The game works fine!

I suppose he took a game that he didn't like, unscrewed it, took the innards out, stuck the chip in, and VOILA! fixed game.

I meant that take another cartridge, put it in the case, and sell it for money.
