Kind of on hiatus for the next few weeks at least, but I always come back and in the meantime would like to encourage discussion on how the site is organized so as to let visitors find the most useful info (whatever that may be) in a clean and efficient fashion.
I don't have a habit of keeping Discord open, so direct inquiries are still preferred through here.

Probably, but I think there is no manner to fight their complete team. I don't know if who added this team to the wiki has the same effects like this.

Anyway, if you didn't change the Ditto's attack modifier, it was roster 7. Attaching a savestate could be good as I personally don't have a save file ready to mess with this on right now.

I had another strange experience with the ZZAZZ. I used this time a Pokémon with 251 Special to activate an encounter with a trainer glitch. In detail, has appeared a Trainer with blank name. He has in their team a Cubone with level 9. I fight with him using a move, but the trainer uses a X Attack. Successively, the battle stops and sound glitched sounds. Those sounds ends with the song of victory against the leaders/champion, and a box text appear. You can press A to continue, and the battle immediately ends with a glitched screen, and other box text.

I checked what could happen if you start the battle in another city, so I use Fly to other cities. The battle would be the same, but the box text changes, because these box have text from NPCs or posters from the city you visit.



The most interesant of all, it's that you can continue your game without effects caused by this glitch. This effect looks like the Too Bad! The trade was cancelled! effect. And couriously, in the wiki says that this trainer could activate this effect, but this does not appeared to me. I wanted to try this in other games, and I checked this in the spanish Yellow's version, and the trainer appears, but the game collapses (freeze with a white screen). I also checked it in the  Blue version, and I saw the same that in the spanish version.

This looks very interesting, thanks for sharing. Yes, I'm unsure if we have this on the wiki yet. A specific glitch AI specifically for that Trainer class may be the issue here. ✿

I was thinking we could see if it runs AIUseXAttack, but on second thought, that wouldn't really prove anything. It'd be somewhere in Bank E.

Considering something unintended happens afterward, it's probably a glitch AI.

I test dropping his attack and Cubone was changed by other Pokémon (Electabuzz, Omanyte, Tentacool, Ivysaur... the rosters that appear in the wiki). Like a curiosity, in some specific rosters, the ZZAZZ was activated, and in other rosters, the effects were the same that I showed in the first post.

I let here a savestate to you or someone to try this  :)

How long did that take?! Was it a similar process to finding which index the glitch AIs were for the ones documented?

Well yeah, presumably, as it's just extrapolating from the last non-glitched trainer, but still, looking at the amount of it you have to wonder how much effort it took to organize those 14336 rosters. Oh well, this is a bit off-topic now.

I actually searched the whole thread to see there if anyone else already tested it in the Italian version but turns out no one ever did there, so here I am!
I currently tested the glitch with a special value of 251, 252, 254 and 255. Each one has a very different behaviour, but let's get down to it!

251

9 times out of 10 it freezes the game when starting the battle. When it doesn't the opponent will send out a lv 0 Nidorino. When you try to open your party menu the game will crash. Your Pokémon get turned into a Bulbasaur with Explosion.

252

This one turns the first Pokémon of your opponent into a level 120 Muk (1st Mon, disappears after using one move) and MissingNo. (2nd mon, crashes the game). The party menu can be accessed but only the 4th and the 5th Pokémon become Bulbasaurs. The first and the second Pokémon become Bulbasaur hybrids. The 3rd and the 6th stay the same.

254

Will just send out MissingNo. and will crash shortly after. Nothing else.

255

The opponent will send out a level 12 Exeggcute. Upon doing any kind of action the game will freeze. None of the Pokémon get turned into Bulbasaurs nor the moves will become Explosion

Looks cool, as expected. :) Are you planning on tracing any of the effects? (I forget if the relevant parts are in a bank that might be different in a localization...)
