Windows 98 NES (or FC-WIN98)
« on: October 11, 2008, 02:39:26 pm »
Just found this a few minutes ago and thought it was interesting, just figured I'd post a couple of screenshots for this thing.

So, just as the title says, this is the NES rendition of Windows 98, naturally made by some pirate/bootlegging company.
Although this looks fully functional, the "internet" doesn't work, I can't find Outlook (probably not on there), you can't press any buttons on WordPad, Calculator, do anything on Paint, etc.

All in all, I was pretty relieved when I got to the Chinese "It is now safe to turn off your computer" screen, because this thing is, while interesting, just terrible.

Screenshots: (spoiler'd due to amount)

[/spoiler]

I lol'd when I initially started "playing" this, but I ended up wanting to shoot myself in the foot when it was over.

edit: we totally need a pirate games section *shot*

Well, that is crazy. I used to own an 98, and they were fucking crap. And that text, is Japanese. Outlook, I'm not sure if it was on the 98 until later on.

This is in Chinese.

Am I missing something, or can NES's now connect to the internet?

Ah, kthx, I'll edit the post to say so.

They can't, it's just a gimmick in the game.
Seems real, though.

I saw this one a while back, funny stuff.

I love how all pirates seems to think Pikachu's name is "Picachu" or something. ::)

But what about the pirate called PIKACHU where it was a hack of Tengen's Tetris with a Pikachu? :O

A challenger disappears.
This is just a "stuff a PC into something odd for the lulz" setup.

Moving right along...
