Breeding?

How is breeding going to function with glitches?

In my writeup about glitches in the Glitch War series it is noted that glitches are single-cellular organisms. Thus, they will most likely reproduce asexually by budding. Glitch Wars' Jacred (not this game's Jacred!) claims to be descendant from the Glitch Emperor himself, so he was most likely an exact replica of him produced by budding.

However, because this game isn't related to the Glitch Wars series in the slightest, feel free to disregard that.

Couldn't they also reproduce sexually like protozoans through conjugation?

Perhaps.

This would also raise the question of whether glitches can be interbred with other glitch species, and whether this would create an entirely new glitch species or if the offspring would just take after one of the parents like normal Pokemon. The former would be somewhat difficult to implement.

I'd suspect we'd keep Glitches seperate from Pokemon in the breeding, so no half-breeds. I like the idea of single-celled organisms, but they'd probably reproduce sexually.

But the idea of a new species... Well, that gives me ideas. What if not all Glitches could be found in the wild? Maybe it would end up being a sort of subquest, to get all of the Glitches through breeding and catching.

Just something to think about.

Well, it seems to ma that there would be a new breeding group for glitches.  But a rare few (Glitcherino and Charzard 'M are the only ones I can think of right now) would have one or two more breeding groups (in this case, glitch/ground and glitch/dragon/monster).

Charizard 'M/Glitcherino/Trainer could probably breed with both normal Pok?mon and glitches.
