Fire Red Glitch - New or Old?
« on: January 06, 2010, 06:37:38 pm »
While I was playing around with codes, I had Walk Through Walls on and went through the Cycling Rode building, but silly me, I forgot I didn't have a bike, but instead of "Excuse Me!" I was greeted by the screen shaking and... this.

After this happens, you become stuck in one spot (but you can move around in circles) and if you go to the menu...

Argh! More qAF!

Also, choosing something and then exiting it will cause the screen to stay black and freeze.

Very minor, but... I'm just wondering, why DOES this happen?

Feel free to call me an idiot if this has been discussed before. :P

Either your ROM's corrupt or it's just effects from the code.

It must be from the codes. If I had a WTW code, I'd try this myself to see if it is just the codes, but I can't find any codes.

Here Mutou Yami, try that. It may also help to note that I had the "1st Pokemon Maximum Stats" code on, but I'm not sure because when I had WTW off and went in it didn't happen, so my guess is that it's just WTW...

Also, nah, I don't think it's corrupt... Dunno though.

I never use the max status code, only if the Decamark sucks. I'll dig out my ROM and have a look. But I don't think I was past Route 01 when I last played, but I'll see if it is the code or not.

Edit:

Crystal, the code the "1st Pokemon Max status" appear to be the cause for your glitchey problem there. I've had some amusing effects with the WTW code, and here are some pictures. Try starting the game without the Max Status code, and see what'll happen when you reach that point again.

Yeah, using walk through walls can cause totally random weird stuff to happen. I have done stuff like that on a Ruby ROM, but there was nothing really major.

LOL... yeah, that looks like it could be my problem! I'll definitely have to play around with it more later.

Thanks everyone. :)

No problem, but I found it amusing, since all I have with me is a level 5 female Charmander. But what still bugs me is, the code my friend gave me.
