Server Migration
« on: March 04, 2012, 10:08:49 pm »
Hello,

In an attempt to resolve downtime issues I've migrated GCL to a new server. We're still in beta mode now, but let's see how well we can hold up now. If all goes well we should be ready to go public soon.

Thanks,
Adrian Malacoda

My next suggestion would have been to switch the httpd to nginx. Apache is a RAM hog.

Well it's still working one day later, which is a good sign

I might still look into this; I plan to expand the server to beyond GCL/OTC and any amount of performance I can get will be critical. That said, the move was necessary anyway; this host seems to perform better, is easier to expand, and is more in line with my values (not like that has anything to do with GCL specifically, but if I'm shelling out $60/month it should be to a company I can agree with).
