Literally random videos
« on: August 01, 2018, 12:22:12 am »
It seems you can have quite some fun creating random videos (by this, the raw data bytes could contain data from random.org, or an unrelated file, or similar).

I took a full resolution AVI of my computer with some random windows opened for 3 minutes without doing anything, and then corrupted most of the AVI to have random hex values. Unfortunately it's now only a few frames long, but I got this beauty.

With another type of AVI encoding, I got a cool animation after corrupting a video taken from DS Capture. I had to convert it into an MP4 first though as my computer wouldn't play the AVI:

First second looped, low frame rate (as imgur wouldn't take it):

You can corrupt WAV files to have arbitrary data as well, but unfortunately you may just get noise that isn't really interesting.

In fact, you could modify the above video to look more like MissingNo. which would make a great animation.

Edit: Rainbow MissingNo.:

Hi!

I'm Evie.

I'm a transgender person, but any pronouns are fine. She/her preferred.

Unfortunately due to legal concerns I won't be using emulators and unauthorised copies of ROMs anymore, just real hardware with official cartridges and a cheating device (Xploder) to aid research, sorry.

Online I most often use the username Torchickens or Chickasaurus.

Ah.. koucha ga oishii ♪

Thanks Aeriixion for the cute sprite above! :) Roelof also made different variations of the sprite (which I animated).

If you like, please contact me by private message here on the forums as I no longer check other places very often.

I like to collect interesting video games. ^_^

Fun times come and go, we may argue what is the point if nothing in this world is permanent; and all energy is believed to be subject to transformation. I guess in the temporary absence of it though, we value those times more and even though some things seem to be lost, they return in other forms.

Hey, I mainly focus on generation 4 glitches and specialise in voidspecific glitches.
