Save file maps for RBY and Crystal
« on: April 03, 2019, 07:56:53 pm »
Recently, entrpntr has been working on correspondences between WRAM disassembly labels and addresses in the save file. I figured his impressive work was worth sharing here.

Kind of on hiatus for the next few weeks at least, but I always come back and in the meantime would like to encourage discussion on how the site is organized so as to let visitors find the most useful info (whatever that may be) in a clean and efficient fashion.
I don't have a habit of keeping Discord open, so direct inquiries are still preferred through here.

Nice ^^, I wasn't aware there were these (apart from SRAM.asm stuff in the disassembly) files. They did a great job.

Thanks for sharing this. :)

Thank you Nyapon for this lovely artwork. :3

These aren't SRAM addresses, SRAM spans A000-BFFF. Wat?

These are just the values of various RAM addresses the game stores in a save file. I've used my save file to document the name bytes of glitch Pokemon I had in my party in German Yellow. It's nice to see someone fully documented this! I did some documentation years ago, but didn't get far.

Both of you are correct. I should probably retitle the thread. Here's a bit of the Yellow save LanceAndMissingNo. posted as an example, just because I happened to have it on me:
