Obscure Dex TODO list
« on: April 30, 2019, 11:24:18 am »
This list is for Dexes with entries in the Databases page and what needs done to fix them up.

  • ValidSourceMapGlitchCityDex: Needs created. Could probably be automated and knocked out quickly.
  • AttackEffectDex: Completely unprofessionally written. Lots of "me"s and "I"s. Also, needs finished, and info needs retested.
  • BadgeDescriptionDex: Needs cleaned up, and info needs to be retested to be more technically explained.
  • BattleAnimationDex: Needs created. Maybe automate-able?
  • BattleTypeDex: Doesn't exist, description implies it does but it just goes to a disambiguation page for other articles.
  • BerryDex: Needs created. Could definitely be automated.
  • DayDex: Needs filled out, and needs a better viewing method documented.
  • DefaultNameDex: "glitch blocks" is not acceptable to put in names, ESPECIALLY not the way it's implemented here.
  • DexDex: Minor format issues in tables ("0" should be "00", etc.)
  • DollDex: Needs created.
  • ElevatorDex: Some entries just list "impossible", so fix those. Also, needs table-ized.
  • FacingDex: Needs table-ized. Also missing a few entries.
  • HitFlagDex: Info needs retested to be more technically documented, needs cleaned up for professionalism.
  • OverworldTileDex: Needs created. Very much automate-able.
  • PhoneDex: Needs created.
  • PlayerPaletteDex: Needs created. Very much automate-able.
  • PosterDex: Needs filled out. Minor misspelling fixes.
  • PredefDex: Needs created. Not really automate-able(?) but my Yellow predef list could be ported over to the Dex as a start.
  • RadioDex: Needs created.
  • RibbonDex: Needs created.
  • SlotSymbolDex: Needs created.
  • SoundbankDex: Needs created.
  • SpecialEmoteDex: Needs created.
  • StatDex: Needs filled out.
  • TMHMDex: Needs filled out.
  • TraderDex: Needs created.
  • TypeDex: Needs filled out.
  • UnownDex: Needs pictures of several entries.
  • WeatherDex: Needs created.

Several of these would be easy to knock out with some programming knowledge and the ROM(s).

i'm also on keybase and bitchute but i don't have nifty buttons for those. Bitchute isn't ready yet, but will be eventually.

Thanks for starting this! You're certainly correct about the current state of those. That said, they are obscure database projects, which I'd consider less important than other things on the wiki backlog for now, but any input or contributions to them (even fixing typos and formatting) are welcome from anybody.

I think at some point the "Databases" page became merged with the "Dex ideas" page, and as a result there are many listed there which are just ideas. Splitting those would be a start.

...But I thought we were going sailing today?

A few are easy jobs, either able to be done via any shmuck with a bit of knowledge in Python or C or w/e and the disasm or only need fixed (table-ization, etc.) meaning some lower users could assist in those. I, personally, am gonna start cranking out Python scripts for data extraction/table parsing so situatuonal processing may begin.

The phone dex seems like something I'd personally try, mostly because I am curious about the ghost of glitch city call of death...
Wait how do I use lua with the VBA again?

Good luck/have fun and hope you can find her name and force-call behaviour. ^^

Note some calls run RAM (behavior varies/can be unpredictable/or is arbitrary code execution), so there is a chance you may not find it. However, you could theoretically find it with cheat searcher/analysing a memory address by identifying her index number when she is calling you. ✿

✿ Hi, I'm Evie. Transgender woman but spiritually doesn't believe 'male'/'female' needs to be defined; lives more stereotypically like a woman/I'm a 'girly' nerd who discovered herself. Call me whichever pronouns you like. :)

Feel free to contact me here about anything regarding the site.

Forgiveness. I feel that the more people pray to our greatest source/God/mathematical equality for world peace, the more and more it manifests into reality (until our next spiritual death).

Thank you Nyapon for this lovely artwork. :3

How would it be possible to automate the creation of dexes?
What if you wanted to research glitches but the opponent said

Parsing parts of the ROM. This is a good example.
