Walk through walls (berry tree trick)
« on: December 16, 2019, 04:18:48 am »
Pokemon Sword & Shield continues to reserve a nice representation of 20-year glitches of pokemon games. ;D

This one 's reminiscent of walk-through-walls-glitch of Gen 1 and bicycle tweaking of gen

But it's an inventive combination of two bug,  the recent time-skip exploit outside wild area (throgh a Ranked battle) and the bike inside a Berry tree, that it was discovered by Poketips (or it was the first to talk about in a video)

This video explain quite well how to perform the trick:

while he's original video was a bit unclear IMHO, but you can watch from his list.

An italian youtuber and streamer is currently working on this glitch, has managed to get it to work better and managed to get out of bounds instead of just going up and down. Also, he managed to achieve a strange case of "Teleporting" getting into Route 3, using Pokecamping and finding himself on the same spot (graphically) but into Motostoke according to the game and Town Map.
You can find the Twitch VOD here https://www.twitch.tv/videos/523261164 , it's 2:30h of VOD but it's actually really interesting, sadly it's in italian but I can translate for you if you give me a timestamp you'd like to understand better.

PS: He's currently streaming right now as I'm writing this post, will link the new VOD as soon as he finishes.

EDIT: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/523678160 here's the second vod, he managed to find a way to tilt the bike into Motostoke and (not confirmed yet) a way to "keep" the tilting, or rather, bringing it into another spot which wouldn't allow you to tilt the bike under normal circumstances

This looks excellent. It actually made me think more of Super Mario Odyssey than Gen 4 or 1 (because of that video where someone uses a bike to get inside a wall...haven't actually played it :P ). I look forward to trying it out.
Held aloft, as if by hands, their thoughts remain adrift
Torn asunder, broken bands
A void, a dream, a rift

Let us know if you manage to find something worth using this glitch ^.^

Thanks! It takes me some times to watch this long stream, especially in this period.
It was fun to see the streamer venturing to save in the void and camping.

If you have been in contact with him, you may suggest to look at YemPKM, that is the person that for first managed to climb the invisible walls.
At the end of the video  explains better what walls you can actually climb.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8th2iamzyQ
BTW the video itself is beautifull for its editing.

Yem also stated it wasn't possible to exploit this trick to get out of bound with berry tree in route 6.
But it seems there's a way!

There's this very unknown youtuber called " LoLits Rizzy" that showed the trick done in glimwood tangled
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfAsqB1wFMs&t=34s
It works in a different way, being pushed away from NPC blocking your way, while being interacted from a wrong side.

That is hilarious, because it reminds the "Brock Through Walls" glitch from gen 1.   ;D
It overbuild the idea Pokemon Sword and Shield are a great celebration of all glitches in any generation of pokemon games.

Anyway, in order to be behind the team grunts blocking you from entering the Glimwood, LoLits stated he have done the trick in Route 6.

While not having shown this in a video, this has probably to do with the way he perform the trick shown in his prevoius video:
he managed to turn 180°, to get easily into the tower in the wild area.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk6oDzx-728

There's still more to see about this glitch.  :D
